Usability Engineer for medical softwareJoin one of the most exciting tech companies in the medical device industry and make a real impact!In 3Shape we work to improve treatment and diagnostics for dental patients by providing innovative scanners and advanced software, tied together in collaborative workflows for the global community of dental professionals worldwide. We are using AI and machine learning methods for analyzing large amounts of medical (dentistry) data – pushing a field which traditionally has looked at 2D images towards 3D scan data.The positionIn the TRIOS Patient Monitoring team, we are looking for a Usability Engineer who will ensure that our product is safe and fulfill the regulatory requirements for Usability Engineering (UE).TRIOS Patient Monitoring software product allows the dentist to compare and analyze scans to identify morphological changes or to detect caries. This is used as a diagnostic aid and for evaluation and planning of dental procedures.You will continuously analyze customer needs and perception of new products and features with a special focus on identifying critical tasks related to usage. You will be responsible for UE from project beginning to end with Formative and Summative Evaluations as the main focus. This includes:
  • Help qualifying design choices in new product development by performing user studies and analyze user experience.
  • Ensure that UE is an integrated part of Risk Management and Design Control.
  • Ensure that our user interface is documented and meets the relevant standards.
  • Preparation and maintenance of UE documentation.
  • Prepare, plan, and execute Summative Evaluations.
    • Your profileThe successful candidate must have a generalist’s ability to understand multiple technological areas and different technologies in the interaction with users. Moreover, we expect you:
  • To have experience with IEC62366-1:2015, FDA guidance for Human Factors Engineering (2016) and ISO 14971:2019.
  • To have hands-on experience with usability testing, including preparing protocols, reports, and other documentation
  • To have strong cooperation and communication skills
  • To be fluent in English (oral and written)
