Are you our new people leader of Cell Engineering in Cell Therapy Research? We are looking to hire a dedicated and ambitious people leader to head up the research platform of cell engineering within the Cell Therapy R&D transformational research unit at Novo Nordisk. About the department The department Cell Engineering is part of Novo Nordisk’s Cell Therapy R&D organisation, where we develop novel cell replacement therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases. The R&D unit covers the full pharma R&D value chain, which means we function as an integrated entity, spanning from early research to GMP manufacturing, non-clinical and clinical development in the same organisation. Cell Therapy Research consists of five departments with a strong collaborative atmosphere in our leadership team and across our organisation. Cell Engineering is situated in Måløv, Denmark and is an international and dedicated department of approximately 16 employees including scientists, technicians, and students, with expertise within genome editing, pluripotent stem cells, and immune cell biology to design and characterise safe and efficacious cell therapy products with focus on hypoimmunogenic & functionally improved cell products. The position As our new people leader, you will drive our journey in next generation cell therapy development with focus on the development of genome edited cell therapy processes and analytic packages, support technical transfer to CMC and review of documentation intended for submission to regulatory authorities. You will help set the direction for Cell Therapy Research and support the unique innovative and collaborative culture in Cell Therapy R&D. The job will involve significant interactions with stakeholders in all parts of our TRU where you will be responsible for driving the cell engineering platform and other strategic scientific focus areas, nurturing our new Ways of Working culture and developing the team and individual employees. You have previous leadership experience and possess a natural curiosity for constantly improving your leadership skills through thoughtful experimentation. The preferred candidate should have scientific knowledge of genome engineering approaches and pluripotent stem cells, as well as an understanding of regulatory requirements within genome edited cell therapy products. Previous experience within immune cell biology and immune functional assays will be considered an advantage. In addition, you have a strong background within Life Science (e.g. biological, biomedical, or related fields) and excellent communication skills - being fluent in oral and written English. You have experience from the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Cell Therapy.
