You will join our Ports, Marine and Coastal Engineering department As our new Structural Marine and Geotechnical Engineer, you will be part of a diverse international department at Ramboll’s global headquarters in Copenhagen, and work on both major international and domestic marine projects across all stages from planning to detailed design and supervision, together with our team of highly engaged and specialized engineers. We are currently involved in several exiting ports and marine projects, were the interaction of structural design, geotechnical expertise and hydraulic knowledge is key. For example, in flood defends design of Nakskov, extension of Port of Rønne for offshore wind production, new FSRU terminal in Gdansk and largescale breakwater construction for Port of Genoa. All projects where we are doing what we are great at, driving the technical excellence and supporting growth of the blue infrastructure and green energy transition.
Our department works with a broad spectrum of marine projects, from feasibility studies to detailed design and supervision. Our team is well balanced between senior experts, project managers, specialists and newly graduates. Knowledge sharing and open-minded collaboration across all levels within the department and across the organisation is part of our DNA and enables us to deliver innovative yet efficient solutions on a high-quality standard. Your future colleagues have extensive experience from both national and international port, marine, geotechnical and coastal projects.The multidisciplinary aspect of Ramboll and focus on innovation and sustainability, gives you a unique opportunity to work with experts from all fields, developing your skills further. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Detailed design of a wide variety of marine and geotechnical structures, such as quay walls, caissons, dikes, bollard foundations, mooring dolphins, foundations, , retaining walls, rock revetments etc. ·Advanced modelling of geo-structural challenges, using FE-software such as PLAXIS and OPTUM to model complex soil-structure behaviour and deformation. Design of structural elements in steel and concrete both analytical and by using FE-modelling for more complex structures Detailed design from start to finish with high level of responsibility and “hands-on” optimisation processes where you are the key player Evaluation and dimensioning of port related equipment, i.e. fenders and bollards Life-time assessment of existing structures Occasional site supervision (also on projects you have designed) Coordination of drawing production Your starting point for constant growth From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is: A master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) Proven experience in the design of marine structures, or other concrete or steel civil structures Are motivated both independently and in teams Curious and ambitious with the desire to learn and develop Motivated to contribute in driving our automation efforts through tool development You have experience in programming (i.e. PYTHON or MATLAB) and are motivated to continue applying these skills. English and Danish at a professional level, any other language skills are a plus Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include an open mindset and the ability to both work independently and as a team player.
