The Position As Lead Systems Engineer you will play a leading role in the development of a medical device project through all stages of the product lifecycle. The LSE is responsible for ensuring transparency in the decisions made and to ensure involvement across DDS functional areas. The assigned LSE has the technical mandate and can decide upon technical issues as long as the Scope, Time and Budget are not impacted. For business related decisions the LSE need to involve and align with the assigned project manager. A fair representation of all areas during development across DDS are the responsibility of the LSE. Major responsibilities of the LSE: • Accountable for the technical performance of the system and/or subsystem/module as defined for a specific project • Accountable for consistency within design input, design output, design verification and design validation including: • Ensuring the correct requirements and verification and validation thereof • Ensuring the right specifications for manufacturing, ie drawings, material specifications, component specifications etc. • Involvement of all relevant stakeholders in tradeoffs Tasks related to the position will include: In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who can celebrate successes along the way and drive the project in close collaboration with the project manager. You will work in close collaboration with project managers, e.g. regulatory affairs, risk managers, mechanical engineers, software and hardware engineers, development manufacturing, UX and graphical designers, and you will play an important role in connecting these stakeholders across professional areas of expertise. Qualifications For this position, we are looking for the following qualifications:
  • You hold a bachelor or master’s degree within engineering
  • You have at least 5+ years of a similar experience
  • You are fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • You have a previous work experience within medical device development or other regulated industry
  • You are familiar with design control processes

  • It would be considered an advantage if you have:
  • Successfully taken a product from concept to product launch
  • Proficiency in requirements tools e.g. Modern Requirements
  • Managed complexity of multiple platforms and variants through Product Line
  • Engineering, Configuration Management, and/or Variability Modelling.
  • A previous experience in project management.
  • As a person, you are analytical, structured, demonstrate attention to detail, while keeping the overview of the system you are engineering. You thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and are not afraid of voicing your opinion and challenging status quo on our processes. You are a strong team player recognised for your interpersonal skills. You bring a "can do" spirit, a healthy common sense and a good sense of humour to your work. About the Department The Systems Engineering department consists of highly skilled and motivated professionals and specialists which take pride in being the experts driving system design, from early development through product commercialization. We are part of Novo Nordisk Device Delivery Solutions, which is the organisation responsible for the development of device solutions for medical self-treatment within all business areas of Novo Nordisk A/S. In our department, we have a wide range of development projects in different development phases and you will join a team of 13 contributing on projects related to pens and auto-injectors. Our main aim is to further advance our offerings to people living with chronic diseases and their healthcare professionals through new technologies.
