The role
The Open API solution architect is a senior technologist who works closely with our business stakeholders to find software solutions to their business requirements, and subsequently ensures proper implementation through development teams. The Open API solution architect role is multifaceted. Maintaining a balance between sound principles, future state, high quality and impending deadlines requires a sound head, an even temperament and excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
Saxo’s Open API is one of several platforms that Saxo offers. Most client facing projects starts in the corresponding Open API team, that serves as the bridge and façade between Saxo direct partners, Saxo UIs and the internal workings of the bank. We are in the process of moving to an event based architecture based on Kafka, developed in dotnet core and hosted in Microsoft Azure. Relevant projects in the team usually consist of both technical and business features.
How you suceed
You will be part of the Open API Architecture team, consisting of 4 other solution and domain architects situated in India and Copenhagen. You will typically be assigned to 1-3 commercial and technical projects, depending on size and complexity. As Open API solution architect you will typically be working with client facing projects. You will be working with the commercial stakeholders to map out requirements and expectations, with lead developers and other senior technical staff to ascertain the technical feasibility, the Project manager and Business Owner to devise the implementation strategy and the development teams and Project manager to execute the actual implementation.
Responsibilities
- Support business and their requirements through solution design and estimates. Help the organization prioritize the right technical decisions
- Devise, document and communicate IT solutions for bigger business or technological initiatives within the larger Platforms area
- Safeguard strong API design and communicate best development practices to development teams in the Platforms organization
- Ensure our platform is always fit for future by marrying present and future technologies with business needs
- Maintain connection to the codebase by contributing through POCs or smaller individual deliverables
Mandate
- Own the technical solution to the technical and business challenges assigned
- Be a gatekeeper on good API design
- Alongside the Open API Domain architect, set the direction and shape of our Open API platform
Your profile
As a person a good mix of the following characteristics is considered an advantage for this position
- Experience in similar roles (software architect) in an organization with a 200+ people Technology department
- Extensive background as a software engineer – and with c#
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft technologies
- Good stakeholder management capabilities
- Good communication skills in English – both verbally and in writing
- Naturally curious, a sense of humor and a sunny disposition
