If you have experience within data protection and IT combined with a commercial mindset and strong communication skills, you may be NNIT's new Data Protection Officer (DPO).
As an IT service provider, we safeguard a lot of personal data on behalf of our customers, and as such data protection is key to NNIT's success. As a data processor we are required under the GDPR to have a DPO.
You will report directly to our CFO, Carsten Ringius, and interact broadly with colleagues from our different business units. The global privacy team is a cross-functional and global team in NNIT comprised of lawyers, operational, quality, security and process specialists. The team provides in-house services related to data protection compliance, in particular the GDPR, to the NNIT Group both to our headquarters in Denmark, but also to our affiliates in Europe, Asia and the US.

Your responsibilities
Your main responsibilities are:
- Drive and oversee compliance with GDPR and national data protection legislation across NNIT and provide effective advice to the organization.
- Conduct awareness and training.
- Maintain a documentation framework on NNIT's data processing activities.
- Draft documents in the NNIT quality management system related to the tasks and responsibilities of the DPO and data protection.
- Support control and audit frameworks activities, e.g. ISAE 3000 and ISO 27000-series.
- Participate in data breach management and reporting to customers or the authorities.
You will also work within these areas:
- Monitor internal compliance in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g. internal audit and business units).
- Participate in cross-organizational compliance projects.
- Advise on the need for and use of DPIAs and maintain the NNIT standards.
- Regular reporting to NNIT management, including the Board of Directors (Audit Committee).
- Ensure timely fulfilment of data subject rights requests in collaboration with relevant business areas.
- Contact point for data subjects and NNIT clients in relation to data protection.
- Cooperate with and act as point of contact with supervisory authorities.
Your qualifications and experience
- An academic background in law, IT, IT security or auditing.
- 5+ years of experience with data protection law.
- Knowledge and experience with IT, technology and IT Security.
- Ideally holding internationally acknowledged data protection certifications (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) and/or relevant certifications within IT security (e.g. CISM, CCISO, CISSP, CRISC).
- English and Danish language skills at a professional level.
- Experience with management-level communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across different functions in a large international organization.
- Good time and task management skills and ideally experience with or training in project management.
