About the department
The “Strategy & Business Development” department is a newly established unit in Sourcing Operations (SoOp), where SoOp is responsible for the inbound supply chain of direct spend materials in Novo Nordisk. The position is anchored in the team “Digitalisation & Business Intelligence”, which are focusing on three main areas. Drive innovative digital initiatives that changes SoOp business model and provide new value-producing opportunities. Utilise business intelligence solutions with the purpose to design, develop and deploy supply chain processes in SoOp. Foster an innovative culture across the organisation and be frontrunners in driving our innovative agenda. Core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly agile manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities within emerging technologies. Consequentially, you should expect the team structure to be dynamic as well.

The position
We offer an exciting and challenging data engineer position with a unique opportunity to operate in a complex data environment in close collaboration with colleagues across the supply chain. You will contribute to optimising and developing our data foundation, architecture and infrastructure in close collaboration with colleagues inside own organisation and stakeholders in IT and digitalisation units in Novo Nordisk. You will work on improving data availability and validity. Both with the purpose to meet business needs for reporting, analysis, and advanced analytics.

This is a newly established position and job type in SoOp, which gives great flexibility for experimentation, define the direction within data engineering and you can look forward to playing a key role in shaping the future in collaboration with highly skilled colleagues across the organisation. You are expected to seek opportunities outside and outside Novo Nordisk on how to drive the data engineering agenda.

Qualifications
You have a Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field. Further, you have insights into and hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) and with programming (e.g., using JAVA, Python, or R). Preferably, you also have experience in working with Alteryx and Tableau. Experience in establishing a data foundation setup from the ground and working with data manipulation and unstructured data is a advantage.

You have a key interest in transforming data to insights. You enjoy building novel solutions for your customers, like to drive decisions in your area of expertise, and take a pride in helping your colleagues in a pulsing and dynamic environment. If you enjoy working in an informal atmosphere where flexibility and responsibility go hand in hand, then this is the job for you.

As a person you are a strong team player who can collaborate well with a diverse group of stakeholders. You have a can-do attitude and can challenge existing ways of working. In addition, you can proactively drive implementation of new solutions. You have a strong business understanding and a high level of engagement and persistency. You are also fluent in English, oral and writte.
