We are looking for a Data Scientist who can understand business problems and design complex analytical models, from data extraction to product creation and value creation. About the department
The “Strategy & Business Development” department is a newly established unit in Sourcing Operations (SoOp), where SoOp is responsible for the inbound supply chain of direct spend materials in Novo Nordisk. The position is anchored in the team “Digitalisation & Business Intelligence”, which are focusing on three main areas. Drive innovative digital initiatives that changes SoOp business model and provide new value-producing opportunities. Utilise business intelligence solutions with the purpose to design, develop and deploy supply chain processes in SoOp. Foster an innovative culture across the organisation and be frontrunners in driving our innovative agenda. Core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly agile manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities within emerging technologies. Consequentially, you should expect the team structure to be dynamic as well.

The position
Your main task will be to drive and develop data science solutions that can transform our organisation. You will develop comprehensive and robust models and algorithms that drive innovation throughout the organisation and conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance. Further, you will work with complex business problems and designs analytical models, from data extraction to product creation. You are expected to lead the data science part of projects, challenge status quo and set directions and deliver results within own field of expertise.

This is a newly established position and job type in SoOp, which gives great flexibility for experimentation, define the direction within data science and you can look forward to playing a key role in shaping the future in collaboration with highly skilled colleagues across the organisation. You are expected to seek opportunities outside and outside Novo Nordisk on how to drive the data science agenda.

You have a relevant Master degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, statistics, mathematics, data science or similar preferable, but it may also be that you have gathered your extensive experience from more hands-on positions over the years. Further, you have experience in a statistical and/or data science role with knowledge of machine learning and statistics, optimisation and data visualization tools for processing and presenting data, e.g. Python, R, Alteryx or Tableau.

You have a strong analytical mind-set, a clear flair for numbers and details and you can work independently as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues. You are proactive, dynamic, curious, and a quick-learner. You easily navigate in the intersection between data, processes and projects and have a proven track record of your modelling skills resulting in process optimisation. You have a strong business understanding and a high level of engagement and persistency.

As a person you are a strong team player who can collaborate well with a diverse group of stakeholders. You are also fluent in English, oral and written. If you enjoy working in an informal atmosphere where flexibility and responsibility go hand in hand, then this is the job for you.
