As part of this and Adoption and Growth Hacking team has been created to explore opportunities to grow Maersk’s customer numbers, revenue and/or profitability by running data-informed experiments. The team will work across the entire customer lifecycle, collaborating across the business.

We need a Front-End Engineer to work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary-team with skills in Data Science, Data Engineering, Web & Mobile Analytics, UX and Visual Design and Full-Stack Engineering, helping shape product and business decisions to drive growth and digital transformation at one of the largest companies in the world.

The role will involve:
- Incorporating your industry knowledge and experience in front end development and tools to Maersk Technology. You will be a champion of industry best-practice within the organisation, advocating for technologies that can improve the way we work.
- You will be adept in writing efficient code, unit & integration tests across all components. While the team will focus on experimentation, contributing to code re-use would be a boon.
- Collaboration with other front-end developers, back end developers, architects, designers, UX experts, external agencies, partners and key people in the business.
- Helping to define technical standards, code quality, application security and contribute to a worldwide UI development community with your expertise.
- Working with development teams to define efficient solutions and implementation strategies to create highly cohesive front-end and back-end development practices.
- You will contribute to Agile teams in the elaboration and definition of user stories as part of feature development.
- Good understanding of application security and basic understanding of IAM.
- Build and deployment of artefacts on Cloud or on-premise servers.
- Drive a DevOps mindset to lead self-managed teams.
- Occasional travelling as needed to Maersk locations to meet and work with development team members based abroad (e.g. Denmark).
- You may be asked to perform out-of-hours support tasks.

Key responsibilities


- Lead development in implementing efficient applications, with focus on high code quality and performance.
- Contribute towards the architecture of applications.
- Define, drive and lead front end technology development standards adopted by the development teams and external service providers.
- Educating and providing direction to wider development teams on UI engineering.
- Collaborating with scrum masters and project managers to identify and mitigate risks, issues, as well as to find innovative ways to improve the application development.
- Embrace emerging technologies and solutions to ensure our online experience continually evolves to deliver functionality that our customers need.
- Supporting the recruitment of technical team members across the department.

Skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate technical complexity to be understood by both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
- Good critical reasoning and analytical skills; takes ownership and sticks to the problem until it is solved.
- Customer-focused, whether responding to support queries or developing new features and functionality.
- Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Able to provide constructive feedback and effectively review code, guiding other UI engineers in the right direction

Experience

Essential
- Deep knowledge of front-end development languages, tools and methodologies – HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and associated technologies and toolsets (e.g. jQuery, Sass)
- Hands-on experience of using a front-end development framework, such as Angular, React or Vue. Our preference is Angular, but experience in any of them is a plus.
- Able to write front-end code that is cross-browser and cross-device friendly, through responsive or adaptive techniques is essential.
- Experience of setting, refining and implementing UI standards.
- Experience using Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) systems for development and deployment.
- Experience of IAM for authentication and authorisation.
- The ability to get the best out of technical colleagues as well as business leaders.

Nice to have
- Working with and contributing to open source projects.
- Development and deployments on Cloud.
- Proven knowledge of Behavioural Driven Development (BDD).
- Proven knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD).
