Is it your dream to work with research and development and support impactful decisions in an internationally renowned pharmaceutical company? Are you already experienced with development of various analytical methods, and ready to take your next step in a life-changing career? Then you might be our new analytical scientist for our R&D team at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech.

About the department
Novo Nordisk Pharmatech A/S employs 190 people and is 100% owned by Novo Nordisk A/S. Novo Nordisk Pharmatech strives to improve biopharmaceutical manufacturing by producing and delivering products of the highest quality for both up- and downstream processing within the biopharmaceutical industry. This combined with our complete range of regulatory services, makes us a preferred supplier to global biopharmaceutical companies. Novo Nordisk Pharmatech is a growing company, which will provide many exciting projects in the future and good development and career opportunities.

You will be joining about 30 employees in the R&D department – mostly Laboratory Technicians and Research Scientists. You will be our new Analytical Research Scientist in the Research team, where you will be working together with 11 dedicated colleagues. In collaboration, you will be developing and supplying novel materials for manufacturing of therapeutic proteins at Novo Nordisk and the biopharmaceutical industry as a whole, along with the expansion of our customer base.

We work in close collaboration with our customers to develop optimal purification solutions for new and existing molecules used for the treatment of many different conditions. The atmosphere is relaxed and creative, and we always strive to improve the way we do things. Here, you will be met with trust, care and ambition on your behalf – and a range of opportunities for personal and professional development.

The job
Your key responsibilities as part of the team is to drive the development of analytical methods for our enzyme and resin projects. You will identify suitable analytical methods through known procedures and from scientific literature, plan and evaluate laboratory experiments, prepare protocols and reports as well as compose and maintain development documentation.

You will work in close collaboration with the Analytical Scientist in the Manufacturing Development team, who is responsible for the final development and pre-validation of analytical methods. Occasionally you will provide support to production, quality and support departments with scientific data. You like to engage in professional discussions, and work with the team to achieve identified goals and deliveries within projects, compliance and safety.

You are an experienced Analytical R&D Scientist, with a MSc. or higher level of education and 5 or more years of experience from the pharmaceutical or biotechnological industry after graduating. Experience with analytical enzyme assay development is an advantage but you should be able to cover our chemical based resin portfolio as well. You are a strong team player with experience in the field of spectroscopic assays, LC systems and FTIR. Experience in (Protein) Mass Spec analysis is considered a plus.

Ideally, you have experience with taking on project leader responsibilities preferably within lab scale process development. Your ability to stay focused, even during busy periods, helps to ensure that tasks and project deliveries are properly planned and executed. You acknowledge the value in co-creation, and understand how to produce results together with the team. You pay attention to detail and have a strong quality mindset. You are dynamic, flexible and able to cope with changes in priorities and workload, dedicated to making a difference and ready to ‘go the extra mile’ when faced with challenges.

If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to call Line Naomi Bruun Lund (+45 3037 0097), Henrik Dvinge (+45 3037 0092) or Kristoffer Laursen (+45 3199 5908).
