Then this is a unique opportunity for you to enter a crucial role in our finance department, where you will play a vital part in the optimisation and development of controlling processes. You will join a highly competent finance team at our national head office in Taastrup, Denmark.

Your Role


As a Business Controller, you will be responsible for analysing financial data and reporting reliable conclusions on the main findings to drive process improvement initiatives. Reporting directly to the Finance Director of Kuehne + Nagel Denmark, the scope of the position is to ensure quality business and financial controlling, whilst ensuring the accuracy of revenue and cost reports. Your role entails budgeting, forecasting and conducting internal audits for our several departments and branches. You will act as the financial communicator between management and the finance team as well as facilitating financial controlling meetings with department managers. To succeed in this role, you possess excellent analytical skills accompanied by attention to detail as you will be responsible for providing reports overviewing financial and operational performance and KPIs.

Your Responsibilities


  • Report and perform business revenue analysis and follow up on the department’s financial statements
  • Support month-end closing process and review of monthly and yearly financial results
  • Provide reports overviewing financial and operational performance and KPIs
  • Ensure compliance in accordance with the internal corporate guidelines
  • Act as a financial communicator between management, department managers and the finance team
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting to regional and local management
  • Facilitate financial controlling meetings with department managers
  • Perform Ad-hoc analysis and statistics
  • Optimise and develop controlling processes and provide recommendations on process improvements
  • Prepare and supply necessary data for internal auditors
  • Conduct cost controlling, budgeting and forecasting

Your Skills and Experiences


  • Several years of experience working in a business or financial controlling function
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher within business economics or finance
  • Experience from the logistics industry is considered an advantage
  • Excellent analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of Power BI data tool would be an advantage
  • IT literate and capable of working in various IT systems
  • Proficient user of MS Office with a focus on Excel
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • An avid interest in the financial side of the logistic industry
  • Fluency in oral and written Danish and English is a prerequisite for the role
