Praktik - København

Do you want to work in a global humanitarian organization, practice your communication skills to a worldwide audience within the humanitarian sector and provide support to senior management? Then you might be [xxxxx]’s new intern for the fall semester 2026.

Who are we?

You will be part of the Secretary General’s office in the [xxxxx] (DRC), which is a small dynamic team supporting the Secretary General, the Executive Management Team, the Board of Directors, and the Council of DRC. • Work independently with different tasks related to communications (both external and internal communication), management support, and other tasks relevant to your profile, interests and area of study.
  • Strengthen your communication, writing and coordination skills, while gaining substantial knowledge about the humanitarian sector and work of DRC in Denmark and around the world.

Responsibilities

You will be contributing to a variety of tasks related to communication and management support, including:

  • Planning of meetings and events, including logistical tasks.
  • Assistance with minutes from meetings and follow-up to action points.
  • Support the day-to-day work of the Secretary General’s Office, including administrative and financial tasks, as well as preparations of meetings and travels and follow-up to these.

We offer flexibility in the priorities, meaning that you have the possibility to influence the tasks subject to what is relevant for your area of study.

About you

You should be able to work both individually and together with other colleagues. All employees and interns in DRC should master DRC's core competencies: communicating, taking the lead, collaborating, striving for excellence and demonstrating integrity.

You should be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English. Professional proficiency in Danish is a strong asset but not a requirement.
  • Be effective in the use of MS Office and preferably MS 365 (Sharepoint etc.).

We offer

Contract length: 4-6 months (between August 2026 and January 2027) subject to study requirements.

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen.

Start date: Ideally August. We can be flexible on the start date.

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

  • 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated.
  • Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open).

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), you will need to apply for it should you be selected for the internship.
