About the roleAt the very core of this role is to make AI scale. As our new AI Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of helping our clients transform from manual, 1:1 interactions to automated, 1:N solutions. Your work is done when an architecture you designed allows a brand to serve thousands of customers simultaneously, or when an agent successfully negotiates a transaction via the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) without human intervention.
Moreover, you can look forward to: - Architect agentic workflows: Design and operationalize AI agents using Google's Agentic frameworks (APK) and Vertex AI. You will build systems that "think" before they act, managing context, tool use, and memory.
- Build the future of commerce: Implement and leverage solutions like the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) to create standard-compliant agents that can discover and transact products autonomously.
- Fuse media & AI: Spin up customer-facing applications that combine Google's multimodal models—like VEO for video and Imagen for image generation—to create dynamic user experiences.
- Master the hybrid cloud: While you love Google's stack (Gemini, Vertex AI), you are not afraid of a Terraform script that deploys to AWS or Azure when the solution demands hybrid hosting.
- Collaborate on architecture: Work tightly with our data engineering and business intelligence teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration.

Technical Expert with a passion for turning data into appsYou describe yourself as a "Tangible Builder" with a growth mindset. You communicate well and are as comfortable discussing API specs and interoperability as you are discussing prompt engineering.
You have a consultative mindset, capable of identifying exactly where new protocols (like UCP or Agentic frameworks) can solve complex client problems.
Ideally, you bring:
- Client-facing experience: At least 1 year of experience working directly with clients, with the ability to translate business needs into practical AI solutions.
- Google Cloud specialization: Google Cloud Professional Certificate (e.g., Generative AI, Machine Learning Engineer, or Data Architect).
- GCP mastery: Deep familiarity with the Google Cloud stack (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run) and an interest in the latest LLM releases.
- Engineering background: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform or similar tools to manage deployments across hybrid environments (GCP, Azure, AWS).
- Production experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience taking AI/ML applications from concept to production.
- Communication skills: Excellent ability to explain complex technical concepts (like agentic reasoning loops) to both technical and non-technical audiences.
