København

[xxxxx] (DRC) ranks as one of the world's best NGOs. We’re engaged in humanitarian work in 28 different countries across the globe. The primary role of the Intern in DRC’s Institutional Donor Unit (IDU) is to support conflict and displacement affected persons through supporting our engagement with institutional donors (including the European Commission, UN agencies, and bilateral humanitarian and development funding from major donor countries).

The IDU ensures that DRC takes a rigorous approach to address our donors and keeps abreast of new funding opportunities. The IDU is working to increase DRC’s capacity to expand, deepen, and strengthen partnerships and fundraising activities with institutional donors.

About the Internship

The IDU intern will be a part of a dynamic team spread across DRC HQ in Copenhagen, DRC representations (Berlin, Brussels and Geneva), London and Ukraine. Further, there will be close collaboration with colleagues across HQ departments. Furthermore, you will be expected to:

  • Support record keeping, archiving, and systematic updating of internal working documents, trackers, and templates.
  • Create, update, and maintain IDU Insite pages to help allow for accessible, accurate, and user‑friendly knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the creation of external materials, such as donor presentations, briefing notes, and advocacy documents.
  • Support internal coordination by preparing agendas, notes, and follow‑up actions for team meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to knowledge management by collecting lessons learned, success stories, and case studies for internal and external use.
  • Provide logistical support for donor visits, workshops, and events, including preparation of materials and coordination of schedules.
  • Performing various ad hoc tasks as needed.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be flexible, eager to learn, and proactive. All employees and interns at DRC should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity. The intern should be able to meet the following requirements:

  • Full professional proficiency in English (mandatory). Proficiency in Arabic, French, and/or other languages is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear and professional content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe suite, or similar) to produce visually compelling materials such as presentations, infographics, and donor-facing documents.
  • Experience using AI technologies to optimise workflows and support informed, strategic decisions.
  • Be effective in the use of MS Office 365.
  • Have an interest in donor relations, fundraising, donor engagement, donor compliance and/or how NGOs fund their operations.
  • Be able to work systematically with a good structure for the tasks that you are responsible for.

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university to be considered for the internship. Therefore, applicants should be pursuing a relevant graduate level degree, such as International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies or other related social science studies.

People with a migration or refugee background are highly encouraged to apply.
