Come join the Svitzer tax team and become the key person to lead the advisory on direct tax matters globally.

This is an exciting job with a lot of development opportunities, where you manage international corporate tax matters and own responsibilities within tax reporting, tax risk management, transfer pricing and tax audits. You are exposed to a wide and challenging range of tax and business-related activities throughout the organization and will co-operate closely with external advisors, senior management, colleagues in our Regions and countries as well as within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.

Svitzer is a truly global company, where you lead and set strategies for the activities of the tax team within a high impact specialized tax area. You are overall responsible for the tax operations in Svitzer. You ensure that the organization meets its tax objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

You are an important advisor to our business leaders on tax matters, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues in all regions here in Svitzer.

As part of the Maersk Tax Community, you will be able to participate in technical updates and the annual internal Tax summit and network with colleagues.

Key responsibilities

As Head of Tax, you ensure that the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations as well as the Svitzer/Maersk Group Tax policies and Strategies. You oversee the delivery of relevant research; evaluates legality and tax effectiveness of current and future business activities, maintain tax records, and correspond with external tax agencies or consultants.

Other tasks include;

• Responsible for management and coordination of high-quality tax services under agreed SLA’s
• Oversee the Svitzer transfer pricing matters and partner with multiple stakeholders to provide support on transfer pricing related issues

• Management of tax audits
• Be part of our business development teams on tenders and other growth projects

• Improve tax processes by developing or implementing best practices

• Lead negotiations with national authorities and/or multinational organizations

• Investigate into areas of opportunity
• Keep relevant stakeholders up to date with developments in tax legislation and tax operations

We are looking for

As a person you take ownership by being energetic, initiative-taking, and curious to get to know our business. You coach and offer sparring to your peers and direct report, and you value and create a strong network with your stakeholders. You communicate well at all levels and can apply and explain the tax treatment of different transactions and challenge business driven decisions with adverse tax impact.

You come with 7+ years of practical experience from a tax function in an international company or a law or audit firm, potentially combined with experience from tax authorities. You are experienced in navigating in a complex and international company with several stakeholders and a rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines.

Project management experience is an advantage, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in restructuring.

You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, are fluent in English and your ability to perform critical analysis, prioritize and problem solve is an asset. You have strong organizational skills and attention to details but at the same time you can take business decisions.

You have strategic and take initiative, are analytical and approach your tasks systematically. You can work independently and at the same time enjoy working in cross-functional teams and attend social gatherings with your team.
