Job description

Our Landscape Department is looking for a talented and technically knowledgeable German speaking Landscape Project Architect to join our Copenhagen office. Working within a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of urban design, landscape and architectural professionals, you will play a key role in in the technical development, coordination, and documentation delivery of landscape projects in Germany—ensuring packages are coordinated, compliant, buildable, and aligned with BIG’s design intent, budget, schedule and external requirements.

This role suits a technically confident landscape architect with strong delivery discipline, excellent coordination skills, and German fluency (must-have) for day-to-day collaboration and project communication.

Key Responsibilities
Project Documentations & Delivery
Translate design intent into clear, coordinated drawings and documentation, and maintain consistency across packages, revisions, and phases.
Contribute to material selection, detailing, and key interface resolution (e.g., hardscape, grading/drainage, planting/soil performance, irrigation/lighting).
Support compliance with applicable local codes, standards, environmental requirements, and approval documentation.

Consultant & Interface Coordination

• Coordinate and communicate effectively in German, supporting meetings, follow-ups, written correspondence, and technical clarifications as needed.
• Coordinate internal inputs and external consultant inputs relevant to landscape (e.g., civil, ecology, irrigation, lighting), ensuring integration into design and documentation packages in line with BIG standards and external/client requirements.
• Lead day-to-day package coordination and maintain clear records of decisions, actions, and interface responsibilities.

QA/QC & Risk Management

• Support QA/QC routines: review, coordinate, track comments, and ensure close-out.
• Contribute to constructability resolution (details, build-ups, levels, edges, drainage logic, materials) while safeguarding design intent.
• Identify technical risks early (interfaces, constructability, maintenance considerations, system coordination) and escalate to project leadership with proposed solutions.

BIM & Delivery Process

• Understand and work within BIM workflows, delivery processes, and documentation requirements.
• Work confidently in Revit to support model coordination, interfaces, and documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

• 4–7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture / public realm / site design, with demonstrated experience delivering design packages for multidisciplinary projects with external consultants.
• Strong technical knowledge and documentation capability within landscape / public realm projects, with excellent coordination skills to keep packages moving across disciplines and integrating inputs into clean, buildable documentation.
• Clear, confident communication and professionalism in external settings, with excellent German and English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Software proficiency and adaptability to quickly integrate into BIG’s Rhino and Revit workflow.
