Senior Manager Block Production

Semco Maritime is part of Danske Flådeskibe K/S – the consortium is responsible for designing, building, and servicing the next generation of Arctic ships for the Danish Navy. In this setup, Semco Maritime is responsible for the construction of the vessel as well as operation of the ship assembly facility in Frederikshavn.

Selected partners, primarily in Denmark, will produce and deliver blocks which later will be used in the assembly.

As Senior Manager for Block Production, you will together with your team of construction managers and technical team for outfitting, hold overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and executing block production for ship assembly, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and on-time delivery from our partners.

Your position

In this role, you will together with the supply chain team play a key part in establishing and operating the block production setup. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and timely production of ship blocks in line with project requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including yards, suppliers, and the broader project organization.

Your place of work will be in Esbjerg. The position is full-time, and you can expect some travel activity related to supplier and partner coordination.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Block Production, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of block production across external partners.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Overall responsibility for block production, including planning, capacity management, production preparation, execution and external partners
• Ensure timely delivery of blocks for assembly according to project schedules
• Responsible for outfitting works (e.g. electrical installation) in blocks, installed before delivery.
• Lead and develop the production organization, including construction managers and specialists
• Establish and optimize production processes with a focus on safety, timely delivery and quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineering team from our consortium partner, supply chain, and project management to ensure integrated progress
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures
• Identify and mitigate production risks
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced and decisive production leader who is passionate about complex industrial projects and wants to leave their personal mark on a major defence programme. You have a structured and result-oriented approach to your work and are eager to drive progress across stakeholders and partners.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

• Engineering degree (e.g. Mechanical, Marine, Production or similar) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience within shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy industry production
• Proven leadership experience in complex production environments
• Strong understanding of block production, welding, steel structures, and assembly processes
• Experience working in project-based production and cross-functional environments
• Solid business understanding with the ability to balance time, cost, and quality
• Structured, decisive, and capable of driving progress in complex setups
• Strong communication skills in English; Danish is an advantage
