København Ø

The Quantum Matter Lab at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, invites applicants for postdoctoral fellowships to investigate topologically protected synthetic matter in 1D and 2D arrays of semiconductor-superconductor Josephson junctions formed in a variety of lattices. The project aims to explore novel states and dynamics of emergent quantum states, including topological matter and flat bands. The expected start date is July 1, 2026, or later by agreement.

The project

The work is at the border of quantum simulation and quantum matter, and takes advantage of novel epitaxial hybrid materials. Candidates should have a PhD in condensed matter experimental physics, mesoscopic electron transport, or experimental solid-state quantum information science. The project combines nanofabrication, low-temperature measurements using a cryofree dilution refrigerator, low-noise and high-frequency electrical measurement techniques, data analysis, and close collaboration with theoretical physicists. Scientific writing and communication will be in English.

Inquiries about the position can be made to Associate Professor Saulius Vaitiekėnas [xxxxx] and Professor Charles M. Marcus [xxxxx]
