We are looking for a highly motivated and independent individualto support our efforts in translational molecular imagingto commence 15 August 2026.

Our research

Cluster for Molecular Imaging was established in 2004 by Professor Andreas Kjær to pursue translational molecular imaging research. The research is driven by unmet medical needs and includes all steps from molecule identification to evaluation in patients with a strong focus on the transfer of new methods into clinical practice. The research covers several disease areas including oncology, immune-oncology, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory diseases. The group has so far translated 5 PET tracers into the clinic.

Cluster for Molecular Imaging has access to all necessary facilities for molecular imaging, including preclinical and clinical imaging facilities, cyclotrons, and radiochemistry as well as laboratories for molecular biology, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and a cell laboratory.

The group currently consists of 40 researchers covering a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, engineering, biology, molecular biology, and physics.

Your job

You will join a multidisciplinary research team working on translational molecular imaging and precision medicine approaches.

Your tasks will include the day-to-day coordination and management of research activities, people and infrastructure, as well as supporting ongoing projects within the group. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and execution of complex research initiatives, including studies involving clinical data, biological samples, and molecular analyses.

You are expected to support collaboration across teams and stakeholders, contribute to scientific dissemination, and assist in training and mentoring early-career researchers. The role includes involvement in developing and maintaining research structures, including data, analytical, and operational frameworks.

Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientific leader with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills

  • You have a PhD in Life sciences or a related field
  • You have documented experience in clinical or translational research, including work with complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • You have knowledge of molecular imaging and/or radiopharmaceutical research
  • You have experience with scientific operations, including regulatory frameworks relevant to clinical research (e.g. ethical approvals, data governance)
  • You have experience working with interdisciplinary research integrating clinical data and molecular or biological analyses
  • You have demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects in parallel
  • You have experience with project and/or personnel coordination in a collaborative or matrix environment
  • You have strong communication skills and experience in scientific writing for diverse audiences
  • You have experience working in international collaborations or networks
  • Good English skills, written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills

  • Experience within areas such as oncology, immunology, infectious diseases or related biomedical fields
  • Experience with data-driven research, including biostatistics, bioinformatics, or real-world data sources
  • Familiarity with innovative or agile approaches to research management and infrastructure development
  • Experience working across academic, clinical, and/or industry settings
  • Interest in innovation, translational science, or implementation of research into practice

Place of employment

The place of employment is at Cluster for Molecular Imaging, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 18.5 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The start date is 15 August 2026.

Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) as special consultant with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experience and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 18.07 % to your pension fund.
