Industrial / 3D Designer

[xxxxx] is a global lifestyle brand for children, known for timeless design, functionality, quality, strong DNA, aesthetic and responsibility. As we continue to expand our hardware product categories across playtime, mealtime, nursery, and interior, we are seeking a Industrial / 3D Designer to strengthen our design team.

This role is for an experienced designer with strong technical ownership, capable of driving hardware products from early concept through industrialization and production readiness while ensuring alignment with [xxxxx]’s design DNA, safety standards, and commercial objectives.

You will work closely with the Head of Design, design colleagues, buying and sourcing team, and suppliers and play a central role in developing scalable, high-quality products across multiple categories.

Experience within kids’ lifestyle, interior, or play products is considered a strong plus.

Overall Purpose of the Role

To lead and drive the development of [xxxxx]’s 3D developed products, ensuring that design concepts are translated into production-ready solutions with high technical quality, strong aesthetics, and commercial relevance.

The role carries significant responsibility for technical execution, supplier dialogue and safety compliance.

This is a full-time position based at [xxxxx]’s Head Office in Copenhagen. You will report to the Head of Design.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the development of new 3D developed products from concept to production-ready design
• Create detailed 3D designs, and technical drawings for tooling and production
• Own technical solutions, materials, constructions, and manufacturability
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Design, designers, buyers, and suppliers throughout the development process
• Drive prototyping, testing, and technical problem-solving
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and [xxxxx] quality requirements
• Comment on and approve samples, pilot runs, and production solutions
• Maintain accurate and structured master data for hardware products (components, materials, specifications, documentation)
• Contribute to improving development workflows, quality standards, and scalable processes
• Support optimization and evolution of existing best‑selling products

Experience & Qualifications

• Education in Industrial Design, Product Design, or similar
• 5+ years of experience with 3D developed products
• Advanced 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong knowledge of materials, construction principles, mould development, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with supplier dialogue and technical development
• Structured, detail-oriented, and confident working with complexity
• Strong collaboration skills and commercial understanding
• Experience within kids’ lifestyle, interior or toys is a plus
• Fluent in English
