What’s in it for you? We are now looking for our new Senior System Engineer as part of our High Performance Computing (HPC) & Cloud Engineering team. In the department, we are responsible for developing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and supporting the data-, middleware - and IT infrastructure used across Novo Nordisk R&ED on-premises and in the cloud. You will work within a scrum team dealing with data scientists and IT vendors, which will require a good level of collaborative skills and cooperation. As a Senior System Engineer, you will get to work closely with scientists and architects to understand the business needs, where you will drive and coordinate projects, such as hardware replacement, system migrations, and building new analytics platforms. You will among other things be responsible for:
  • Providing an infrastructural environment on-premises or in the cloud.
  • Building the platform, including integration and automation – to create and provide automated deployment.
  • Designing and developing solutions on-premises or in the cloud to match the scientific research needs in R&ED.
  • Maintaining the platform and solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, such as IT vendors, scientists, and architects to deliver solutions and resolve issues.

  • A bachelor’s degree with a large focus on IT systems engineering and/or Scientific Computing or similar.
  • +5 years of experience and proficiency within IT infrastructure and/or system engineering. 
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Linux / Bash
    • DevOps CI/CD

  • You find it important to ensure stable platforms and infrastructural environment. You are a quick learner and excited to work with new technologies and concepts. You are team-oriented and at the same time you take on the responsibility to lead. We expect you to be service-minded and thrive in a busy environment. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English. In this position, you will get the opportunity to work with and improve your skills within the following technologies:
  • IaC – Configuration/Infrastructure as code
  • Containerisation (Docker / OCI)
  • Cloud environment (AWS & Azure)
  • Python
  • AD (Active Directory) / SSO
