The department is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services on a global scale within the energy sector.The focus areas of the department are offshore topside structures as well as onshore energy projects supporting the green transition. Our services cover a broad range of services within the Structural discipline. We cover all aspects of a project including concept and feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, EPC(I) and follow-up engineering.We work for global customers and thrive to provide cutting-edge solutions to our customers. This position can be in any of the four locations Copenhagen, Esbjerg, Aarhus or Vejle, however some visits to our main competence centre in Esbjerg will be required in case employment elsewhere.We are a global team and execute projects worldwide, you must expect some travel activity from time to time; the number of days will typically vary from 5-15 days per year.You will manage your project discipline team and work closely with other disciplines in a collaborative environment to deliver exciting offshore projects for our clients.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Act as a Lead Topside Structural Engineer on multidisciplinary projects for team of a topside structural engineers and designersAs a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering full detail design packages of topside structural design for our clients in either design contracts or projects where Ramboll provides engineering through EPC(I) contracts covering design, fabrication and installation phases.Maintain control of the topside structure discipline, here under planning and organizing the work of your team, control of cost, time & resources, and technical quality.Coordinate the execution of the projects with the project manager, other design disciplines and the client.Assume overall coordination of the topside structural discipline team on projects and provide expert guidance in terms of detailed design of structural solutions and analysis issues according to the project and client's requirement.Assume overall responsibility for the development of topside structural layout and structural solutions for our clients and facilitate optimized structural topside designs in terms of structural layout, design, construction, and installation.Assume responsibility and understand the delivery of the complete structural design into our Aveva E3D design solution and its interconnection to fabrication requirementsAssist in tender management and as part of this make the quotations including time and cost estimates, write method statement, participate in clarification sessions, etc.Your starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:10+ years of experience within design of offshore steel structures, preferably from the offshore industry in Europe or other region with offshore energy production.5+ years of experience in leading larger engineering teams/projects.Have profound experience in collaborating and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. For this position it is a significant advantage to document a previous role/experience as a Lead Structural engineer in EPC(I) contracts towards fabrication contractors and yards in the offshore industry.Have a solid insight into the dynamics of a project to navigate confidently within the commercial and technical drivers for the project execution.Working experience with analysis of offshore topside structures combined with participation in the full cycle of design, fabrication and installation for offshore topside structures is a significant advantage.Full understanding of what it takes to design, analyse and document offshore structures according to the prevailing codes in the offshore industry.Understanding of structural analysis programs such as SACS, ROSAP or similar for beam/truss- and plated/stressed skin structures.Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, preferably in Civil, or alternatively Mechanical with tilt towards (offshore) steel structures.Fluency in English, written and orally.Qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:You are technically well-founded and able to lead and motivate your project team across geographical borders to deliver on commitments. Your design solutions demonstrate your understanding of how every detail fit into the bigger picture and you take ownership for the engineering design.You are a confident communicator to the project team and client, and when challenges and complex tasks arise, you use your analytical skills and ability to see opportunities. You have excellent ability to understand our client’s requirements and deliver consultancy and engineering at the required level for each project phase from early design through fabrication and installation offshore. You are able maintain focus when controlling several parallel processes.
