Are you passionate about international business development, and do you want to promote Danish solutions in India and boost Danish companies’ export efforts to India?
DI’s office in India is currently looking for highly motivated and qualified interns to assist Danish companies in India for 1-2 semesters. Tasks will include business development, project-related work, and communication.
DI’s office in India advises and supports Danish companies wanting to explore or expand to new market, establish, or operate their business, and assists companies in forming local partnerships to tap into growing markets and sectors in India. In addition, DI India provides a local platform and strong network necessary to bring Danish solutions into play in India, offering Danish companies an effective route to success in India.
Denmark and India signed a Green Strategic Partnership in 2020, which provides an increased focus on India’s market potential for Danish companies. Companies’ increased interest in India has also resulted in increased interest in DI India’s services. Therefore, we are looking for one-two interns who will be an integrated part of the team’s daily work in promoting Danish exports and help Danish companies’ exploit the opportunities of the large and growing Indian market represent.
Being an intern at DI’s office in India, will give you a chance to work with complex and interesting assignments in a highly international and professional environment. You will be part of an experienced team of colleagues who will put you to work and improve your professional expertise.

We are looking for a responsible and passionate person with an interest in emerging markets, India, and business development.
What you will gain
You will be working from our office in Mumbai or Chennai. The internship will likely start with an introduction to DI at our headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark for 1-2 weeks.
The duration of the position is 5-11 months starting on August 1, 2023. The normal working week is 40 hours, and overtime work is expected to occur during specific periods. However, we can organize reduced working hours in periods where you need time off in specific periods to write your assignments. The internship is usually eligible for credits and therefore also SU. This also means that the internship is unpaid, but DI partially reimburses costs related to housing. Previously, interns have succeeded in seeking grants for partial coverage of expenses.

- analyze market potential for different sectors in India, as well as developing shorter reports and presentations
- research and contact Danish companies with current or potential interest in the Indian market
- support planning and hosting Danish delegations visiting India
- be responsible for concrete and commercial company projects with support from colleagues
- communicate India’s economic and political development to stakeholders via social media and short articles
- identify and contact potential partners and buyers of Danish solutions in India
- support the team with ad hoc assignments.
What we expect from you
We are looking for a responsible and passionate person with an interest in emerging markets, India, and business development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An understanding of Danish companies’ core competencies.
- Good interpersonal skills, personal initiative, empathetic, and a propensity for team collaboration.
- Mature and robust person, with experience from previous travelling in challenging environments.
- Curious by nature and eager to collaborate with different people.
- Can sustain an overview and high spirit, also when balancing multiple assignments concurrently.
- Detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken.
- Can start in august 2023 and can be a part of the team for minimum 5 months, and preferably 11 months.
- The ideal candidate is a master student within a relevant field.
