The Department of Green Technology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense and SDU Biotechnology (BITECH) invites applications for one vacant position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Biochemical Engineering. The position is to be filled 01. July 2023 or soon thereafter.
The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research falling within or in synergy with the following areas at BIOTECH related to one or more of the following research fields:
Experience in one or more of the above area is therefore highly valued for this position.
The successful candidate is also expected to initiate and obtain funding for competitive research activities. Commitment to excellence in teaching within fermentation and biochemical engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate level is also expected. The position thus holds a high level of responsibility, but also comes with influence and opportunity to develop and deliver research and education to the highest international level.
Qualifications
The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in either Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline relevant to this position. In addition, some years of experience as postdoc is expected

An international collaboration experience, an interdisciplinary mind-set, and experience in innovation, are also important

Conditions of employment
Employment as an assistant professor requires scientific qualifications at PhD level and is a 3-year temporary position. The employment will cease without further notice at the end of the period.
