SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER Are you up for a challenge an bringing solutions to the hands of users to help them living with their chronic conditions? The position As Senior Systems Engineer within DDS Companion SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) you will combine a system thinking approach with knowledge of technical components, development processes as well as regulatory considerations. You will devise the optimal strategy for the development of the digital products by bringing together all the relevant subject matter experts in the organization and enabling their efficient collaboration. You will be part of one or more core product teams within Novo Nordisk digital solutions and will have the responsibility to ensure the solutions are developed in the smartest possible way taking standards, safety and security, best practices, business, and user needs into consideration. Key responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring regulated software product development principles (e.g., IEC 82304/62304) are followed and implementing as appropriate for the software classification of a digital solution. Responsible for one or multiple different disciplines within systems engineering: Systems Architecture, Requirement Management, Design Control Leadership, Risk Management etc, including documentation responsibilities within those disciplines. Responsible for managing stakeholder interactions ensuring that the right domain input is provided in the design of the system (business, regulatory, safety, medical, IT, clinical etc.).
You will act as a Systems Engineering ambassador within the organisation to increase overall systems engineering and systems thinking maturity.
This position may require occasional travelling domestically and internationally up to 10%. Qualifications A good candidate will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills and an ability to bring clarity in complex situations. You feel motivated by enabling data-driven decision-making in a complex stakeholder landscape. You value teamwork, you are self-motivated and have the ability to manage your work schedule and navigate through project milestones. To be considered for this position, we expect you to: Hold a Master or PhD degree within relevant field e.g., software engineering, electronic engineering, ICT engineering, medical device engineering, applied physics etc. Have minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in System Engineering. Have worked in the development of safety-critical software systems in a regulated industry (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, DO178B/C) or be willing to learn It would be considered as an advantage if you have a previous experience with any of the following: Technical Project Management in regulated environment. Architecture, Requirement Management, Safety and/or Security Risk Management. Software development, mobile applications, and cloud-based services. About the department In Device & Delivery Solution (DDS), we are more than 350 colleagues who design and develop innovative delivery solutions including connected systems and software as a medical device for the Novo Nordisk drug pipeline. Delivery and connected devices support patients in taking the right dose, in the right way, at the right time, while Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) simplifies the treatment and enable a more meaningful dialogue between the patient and health care provider. To ensure this development journey our delivery and connectivity systems are developed in close collaboration between patients and the scientific discovery teams across Novo Nordisk. The DDS Companion SaMD organisation comprise of 40 employees located in Seattle (US) and Søborg (DK). You will be part of the team of competent researchers and engineers located in Søborg who engage in development of the first generation SaMD products within Novo Nordisk.
