Senior Cloud Engineer

The role of the Senior Cloud Engineer -
As a Senior Cloud Engineer within our Cloud Adoption team, you will be a working in close collaboration with product teams across all of Maersk, to enable and accelerate the adoption of cloud. You will be building the foundation for the transition journey into our cloud native landscape.
You we be embedded into product teams to deliver hands-on solutions, needed to accelerate the adoption of centralized capabilities and to drive scandalization across solutions.
As a Senior engineer, you will demonstrate the following characteristics: -
- You have extensive practical experience gained from working as an engineer and typically answer directly to the senior management of your company. Seniorership skills and communication skills are crucial in your work.
- You are creative and come up with innovative approaches to projects and any issues that arise.
- You are a “do’er”. You get things done.
- You are able to understand strategic thinking and how to apply it to the work you are doing.
- Setting goals and implementing them.
- Sharing expertise and insight with other engineers.
- Motivating staff and fostering collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have a background that spans automation, architecture, and operations. We are looking for cloud engineers which can provide expert coverage for delivering highly scalable and reliable solution. This role spans all areas of Cloud Solution Design, Automated Infrastructure (IaC), Configuration Management and Operations and the ideal candidate should have relevant experience in all these areas:
- Automation – IaC, Configuration Management, Ci/CD
- Observability – Metrics, Logging, Tracing, Notifications
- Cloud – Azure, AWS, GCP
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize for product delivery simplification and velocity
- Automate complex infrastructure provisioning and operation process
- Drive standardization across existing and new products
- Design Solution Blueprint and being hands-on implementing them
- Identify opportunities for the product to adopt cloud native capabilities
- Implement the adoption of centralized products like Observability, API management
- Measure success and impact of what we are doing
- Drive a culture of continuous incremental improvements over complex big bang changes
- Solve critical production incidents when occurring
- Work closely with our Lead Cloud Engineers to learn and grow
Key Skills -
- Experience in IaC and Configuration Management (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, Puppet, Ansible, Salt)
- Experience operating, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux
- Strong in problem solving and troubleshooting in complex environments
- Experience adopting CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions
- Experience running cloud infrastructure at scale in production
- Experience working with containers preferably in context with Kubernetes
- Experience of working with offshore teams across multiple time zones
- Understanding of core network design, Segmentation, Firewall, Ingress/Egress
- Demonstrable high levels of integrity
