The position As Senior Scientist in Bone Biology and Disorders, you will work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapies for rare diseases. You will apply state of the art technologies and cutting-edge modalities to find new ways to treat patients with high unmet medical needs. You are expected to apply your subject matter expertise to support several rare disease indications that involve bone growth and metabolism, as well as to work with colleagues across the company to develop new therapeutic concepts in bone disorders. Furthermore, you will lead drug discovery projects with a specific focus on bone disorders, report scientific results internally (e.g., milestone passages) and externally (scientific communication), and represent Novo Nordisk internal and external in projects, innovation groups, business meetings, and scientific conferences In addition, you will: Develop in vitro and in vivo models to support project progression Design and lead laboratory experiments to test new treatment approaches and achieve project goals Support, participate in and develop new project proposals and keep scientifically updated in the field (literature, scientific conferences, and international network) Participate in technological innovation within new modalities to treat, in particular, bone disorders Support patent applications to secure intellectual property rights and ensure that data and results are treated according to Novo Nordisk and regulatory standards Qualifications You hold a Ph.D. in life/medical science and +3 years of postdoctoral experience within pharma/biotech and/or academic-driven discovery and development in bone disorders combined with in-depth knowledge of bone biology/disorders, with +3 years of experience in the field. You work independently and are also a team player who can support and motivate your colleagues. You can collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the globe. It is important that you are well-organized, proactive and have a constructive attitude towards change. About the department Rare Disease Research at Novo Nordisk is an expanding new area with skilled scientists and technicians investigating the function of novel drug candidates to improve the treatment of individuals living with rare diseases. We develop innovative drug candidates through in vitro and in vivo research using cutting edge technologies. An important part of our job is to foster external partnerships and engage with experts across the world.
