The Position
As a Laboratory Technician in the Non-Viral Delivery department, you will become a part of a multinational and diverse team consisting of 2 Laboratory Technicians, 5 Scientists and a Manager. The goal of the team is to develop synthetic/non-viral nanomedicines and characterize them through internal and external innovation. Primary tasks: Development and establishment of capabilities for research grade formulation of nucleic acid cargo using a lipid nanoparticle approach Development and implementation of laboratory methods for analysis and characterisation of lipids, lipid nanoparticles, as well as cargo such as RNA, proteins and others Independent planning, execution, and documentation of experiments Close collaboration with the three other departments in the area, i.e., RNA Technologies, Genome Editing, and Viral Delivery; as well as other relevant areas in Global Research Technologies (GRT) and Global Drug Discovery (GDD)
Qualifications You are an educated Laboratory Technician You have experience with formulation and/or analytical methods, this may include biophysical methods like fluorescence spectroscopy, light scattering, chromatography Hands-on experience in handling of DNA, RNA, lipids, and/or polymers is considered an advantage Work experience within Pharma R&D is considered an advantage Experience with automation is considered an advantage You can communicate in written and oral English at a professional level

About the department
Non-Viral Delivery is a newly established department with the purpose of enabling future development of RNA and gene therapies. The department is a part of the RNA and Gene Therapies area which belong to the Global Research Technologies area at Novo Nordisk. We are developing curative and disease modifying therapies for individuals living with serious chronic conditions, spearheaded via co-creational innovation with external partners. Treatment of disease mechanisms operating inside cells, including gene expression is enabled by emerging intracellular drug modalities. Using state of the art technologies, we are building genome editing and RNA capabilities, and establishing viral and non-viral drug delivery platforms, to enable disease-specific design of impactful drugs.
