Experienced Engineer for Power-to-X Development
Topsoe has embarked on an ambitious and exiting path to become the global leader of carbon emission reduction technologies and has established a dedicated Power-to-X business to support its ambitions. As one of the most innovative players in the industry, Topsoe has established strong capabilities in the area, and is now offering an opportunity in R&D, where you will collaborate with highly experienced specialists and professionals.
In the role, you will be a part of the eChemicals and Synthesis Technology department that works with cutting-edge solutions within Power-to-X and carbon emission reduction technologies for production of ammonia and methanol. In this, you will play an important part in maintaining and developing the offerings together with colleagues across the entire organization and engineering disciplines. Together, you will develop the next generation of Power-to-X technologies, optimize exiting technologies, and resolve issues.
The role will be located in Lyngby, close to Copenhagen in Denmark, and Topsoe offers support in a relocation and guidance in how to get well settled in Denmark. There will be direct report to an R&D Director, who is responsible for eChemicals and Synthesis Technology.
Your job.
Your responsibilities relate to bringing stable and long-life solutions to the market. Specifically, your tasks will cover:
- Conceptual development and simulation of existing and new Power-to-X processes and layouts.
- Design and optimization of control philosophy and process equipment.
- Preparation of process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Support technology specialists in developing, managing, and executing development plans.
- Coordinate functional issues across other engineering disciplines like mechanical, cost estimation, electrical and instrumental.
- Optimization of existing processes.
- To a lesser extent, IP related work such as reading and writing patent applications.
Your Profile
We see you as a curious, innovative, and as someone who tends to see opportunities rather than limitations. In your work and projects, you show initiative and can drive progress. You will need to balance team-related work with having to make independent decisions, and you enjoy working in an ambiguous environment. Towards your stakeholders and colleagues, you have good communication skills and can interact with people that have different mindsets and capabilities.
Professionally, you have strong experience from a similar function, where you have started up or supported plant operation. This experience, you supplement with:
- A degree in chemical engineering or similar.
- Strong skills within process engineering. Knowledge of methanol or ammonia process technology will be considered an advantage but is not a pre-requisite.
- Excellent communication skills and can make presentations, and with a good level in English, both spoken and written.
