Market and Balance Sheet Risk is 1st line globally responsible for the oversight, frameworks and management of risks in Saxo Group Trading and Banking Book. This includes market risks arising from client and desk trading activities but also risks associated with the Group balance sheet, e.g. capital, liquidity and interest rate risk.
The team is responsible for structuring the Group's principles for capital and liquidity management, as well as optimizing the balance sheet and capital structure. The objective is to create transparency and awareness of capital and liquidity usage, to ensure optimal commercial and product decisions, while complying with regulatory and internal risk requirements.
The team continuously collaborates with other areas of the bank, including Asset Liability Management, Finance, 2nd line Risk, Trading and IT. Cross-department collaboration and engagement is essential at Saxo, with the focus to achieve common group objectives, and optimize revenues, cost and capital capacity as a whole.
To further strengthen the organization and be able to deliver on the projects ahead of us, we are looking for a colleague with focus on Balance Sheet Risk management that can take part in developing the area further in close collaboration with our Asset and Liability Management (ALM) team.
The specific tasks applicable for the role are (not exhaustive list):
- Management of risks related to the Group balance sheet
- Development, maintenance and implementation of balance sheet risk frameworks across Saxo Group
- Business ownership of IRRBB models i.e. capital-at-risk, earnings-at-risk and non-maturing deposit models
- Assist ALM team in developing enhanced internal FTP model for liquidity and capital across the organization
- Enhance ALM risk frameworks, monitoring and reporting tools
- Support implementation of FRTB governance across Saxo Group
- Provide support to internal and external stakeholders across products, initiatives and compliance
Your profile:
We are looking for a candidate preferably with experience from a risk management or treasury function, preferably from a financial institution. The ideal candidate has knowledge and understanding of risk management and/or managing the balance sheet of a bank or a financial services firm.
Furthermore, you are expected to:
Hold a relevant Master’s degree within economics, finance, engineering or similar.
Have understanding of how banking, financial markets, risk and asset and liability management works.
A passion for optimizing processes and a drive to find intelligent and scalable solutions
A good understanding of how to leverage technology in finding future-proof business solutions
Be a team player and have good cross-functional collaborative competences
Enjoy working within an international dynamic environment
