The role of the Finance Business Partner is to provide performance management, financial analytics and decision support to the Stakeholders working closely with the Twill/SME (Small Medium Cargo Owners) product organisation. In doing so they must leverage “One set of numbers” and establish a strong link between financial numbers and Commercial actions.

The Finance Business Partner is expected to provide insight and foresight that enables the Twill/SME Product organisation to consistently create value for customers and shareholders. The Twill/SME Product is the organisation's effort to create an attractive value proposition and as a Finance business partner we display a genuine sense of responsibility towards their cargo.

The Finance business partner, through the operating system must maintain and contribute towards an effective performance management framework and have a detailed understanding of the financial numbers as well as solid business knowledge. Through this he/she must challenge and contribute to more data driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Business Partner is expected to:

- Be responsible for supporting and engaging in business decision making for the Twill/SME product Org, by providing value-add analysis, management reporting, deep dive analysis, performance management reporting and financial forecasts.

- Understand the product life cycles and be able to provide insights for driving the performance.

He or She will be responsible for recurrent and ad-hoc analysis requiring business understanding and financial knowledge along with core activities that includes

P&L reviews:

- Thorough Understanding of the Product P&L and all the lines of cost and their drivers

- Good Understanding of the Allocation rules, resulting in the P&L

- Monthly Analysis of the Product P&L and explanation for variances

- Analyse the Revenues and Costs - Evaluate variances and one-offs

- Assistance towards performance management and Product Review meeting

- Recommend relevant inputs and Insights that can drive impact in the business.

- Forecasting / Budgeting - Volumes and Revenues and EBIT: a). Preparation of data for enabling twill product for accurate forecasts for volumes and rates; b). Challenge and validate the forecast/Budget Input for best estimates:

- Value Creating Initiatives: Work closely with Stakeholders to identify value creating opportunities.

– Business Intelligence initiatives such as

(a) Best Practice sharing

(b) Drive Initiatives /Standardization

(c) Cross functional co-ordination – FPNA, Product Organisation

- Understand and clearly articulate the present and future state of the Twill/SME business to enable data-based decision making.

- Being able to understand the business and identify value opportunities from the perspective of customers, verticals, segments, and products.

- Provide recommendations on course of action, through the different stages of the customer’s buying journey: planning, execution, and compliance.

- Support product development with relevant quantitative insights at each stage of the product’s life cycle. Holding the business to account with a structured framework for hypothesis testing, feasibility analysis and performance management on expected value creation.

- Be accountable for timely, high-quality and fit-for-purpose financial reporting and analysis, performance management (revenue, cost, commitments, estimates and forecasting etc.) to key stakeholders.

- Drives adoption and standardization of performance management tools for the Twill/SME portfolio aligning with the entire portfolio of Ocean Products.

- Ensure compliance to accounting principles for the Twill/SME product.

- Maintain governance of Operating System cycles for Twill/SME performance.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Financial Analysis experience with a Master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Business, or with a professional accounting qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • You are result-oriented and have a strong analytical skills with high attention to details
  • You are a self-driven and striving for continuous improvement
  • You are a strong team player with the ability to engage with and influence, guide and challenge multiple stakeholders
