We are looking for a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us become a global healthcare leader powered by data, analytics, and digital technologies. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building our state-of-the-art data insights platform, FounData, and developing outcomes and solutions that will transform the way we operate. You'll work alongside top talent in the industry and make a significant impact on the way we develop new medicines, improve quality, and create value for Novo Nordisk Development and Novo Nordisk at large. The position
The FounData program is a new R&D data insights initiative designed to enhance data storage, curation/handling, analysis, and visualizations relevant to the entire organization. This initiative is set to revolutionize the way we use data in decision-making by enabling data availability from a one-stop clinical data shop. To achieve this, we require robust data pipelines and data models across various data modalities. The program is anchored within Data Science in the Development organization in Novo Nordisk (NN), and we aim to create a solution that spans the value chain. As a Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in the development of the FounData platform. Your primary responsibility will be to: Build and operate a consolidated data platform, including structuring, standardization, anonymization, curation, and use of data across the product development process Implement data engineering best practices, tools, and processes Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts to define platform and data requirements Ensure the data platform is scalable, secure, and compliant with all applicable regulations and standards Continuously improve data quality, accuracy, and availability
Qualifications 2+ years of experience in data engineering Experience with cloud-based technologies and architecture (e.g., AWS) Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, and data management principles Experience with designing and implementing large-scale data processing systems using modern data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, graph databases) Experience in building data pipelines and data models across different data modalities is a plus Understanding of agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices Expertise in clinical data standards, either in a real-world data setting, clinical trial data standards and similar As a person, you possess exceptional collaboration and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail. We anticipate your ability to collaborate effectively with both your peers and other interdependent teams. We value a mindset that embraces task ownership, welcomes challenges, demonstrates drive, and maintains a results-oriented approach. Note: it is more important to demonstrate the ability and eagerness to learn quickly, as opposed to meeting all the qualifications
