Are you looking for an exciting hands-on learning opportunity to supplement your studies? Are you studying global health, international development studies, communication, or related areas? Then here is your chance to work as a student assistant in the Communication team at the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF), an independent foundation working to alleviate diabetes-related suffering in low- and middle-income countries. Apply now and join us! The position As our new student assistant, you will contribute to overseeing WDF’s fast-growing social media channels strategically, effectively, and cost-efficiently. You will develop original content and suggest creative ways to increase awareness of WDF’s work. You will be asked to engage current target audiences and attract new ones. Your responsibilities will be:
  • Plan, create, and publish high-quality content for WDF’s SoMe channels (paid and organic)
  • Respond to SoMe contacts and questions
  • Monitor our SoMe channels and prepare quarterly reports on channel performance
  • Learn and use standard advertising, distribution, and analytic software (AdEspresso, MailChimp, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Challenge how we do things, identify new opportunities, and suggest new concepts
  • Practicalities:
  • Working hours: range of 15 hours a week

  • Preferred starting date: 14th August 2023
  • Qualifications The right person for this position is effective and motivated, able to move quickly in some instances and plan well ahead in others. As a person, you take pride in your work and support friends and colleagues.
  • Good communication skills, as well as creative yet structured
  • Motivator and good at engaging others in your projects and ideas
  • Experience with photo and video editing and creating content for social media
  • Ability to work efficiently, find content, and solve problems
  • Interest in global development and health
  • Advanced English skills
  • You are well suited to this position if you are the first to know about new social media trends and know how to get a message across. About the department WDF was founded in 2002 by Novo Nordisk as an independent foundation and today is a leading global funder of diabetes prevention and care projects in the developing world. Since 2002, the WDF has provided around 200 million EUR in funding to 595 partnership projects in 119 countries.
