We are looking for a skilled, motivated, and energetic colleague for a full-time position in Biotech and Rare Disease QC (BRD QC). About the department
QC Microbial Competence Center, Biotech and Rare Disease QC (BRD QC) is located in Gentofte, and consists of 34 employees, organised in 2 teams, team “Clinical Support” and team “New Methods”. It is within the ‘New methods’ we seek a new colleague. The team has a central function in development and validation of new state-of-the-art methods for microbiological analysis for products under development. This includes Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other molecular biology methods About the job The team, which consists of 10 academics and 5 laboratory technicians, is responsible for developing analysis methods for testing of new products such as ATMPs. You will contribute to the development of our NGS analysis platform in Novo Nordisk for detection of virus and microbial contaminants. Moreover, you will be expected to contribute to the ongoing optimisation of molecular biological part of the NGS method. The position is a 1-year maternity leave substitute. Qualifications
To succeed in this role:
  • You hold a Master´s Degree or PhD with a background such as bioinformatics, molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology, engineering, or another relevant field within the natural science.
  • Hands-on experience with the wet lab part of NGS.
  • You preferably have hands-on experience with Bioinformatics.
  • You are preferably an experienced user of Illumina NGS platforms.
  • You preferably have experience with cGMP validation of NGS or analytical assays.
  • Additional skills of interest:
  • In-depth knowledge within virology or microbiology.
  • Have experience with Oxford Nanopore.
  • Automated liquid handling robotics e.g. Biomek.
  • You have experience with equipment qualification and application management system.
  • You as a person:
