About the Role

As Senior Director, Foundational Platforms, you will play a key leadership role in [xxxxx]’s Digital & Technology organization, driving the evolution of our global platform engineering function. You will be responsible for defining and delivering [xxxxx]’s data and integration strategy, leading a team of 100+ engineers across Copenhagen, Poland, and India.

Reporting directly to the CTO leadership team, you will oversee mission-critical platforms around data and integration, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adoption across all business domains. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence both business and technology at the highest levels while shaping the backbone of [xxxxx]’s digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Operations

  • Lead and inspire a global engineering team of approx. 70 FTEs, including senior engineering managers.



  • Ensure 24/7 operational availability of [xxxxx]’s foundational platforms.



  • Define and execute the target data and integration platform strategy to simplify and scale [xxxxx]’s IT ecosystem.



  • Drive adoption of enterprise platforms across business-facing domains such as Supply Chain, Omni, and Manufacturing.



  • Stakeholder management to align on joint priorities and deliveries between platform team and business facing engineering teams & analytics teams



  • Drive the roadmap and migration plan for legacy data and integration platforms



Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as a key member of the CTO leadership team, influencing strategic direction and fostering innovation.



  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to align platforms with business needs.



  • Design and evolve organisational structures and operating models to support growth.



  • Manage supplier and partner relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality delivery.



Financial & Stakeholder Accountability

  • Manage budgets of 70–100 MDKK across CAPEX and OPEX.



  • Build strong relationships with global stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.



What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a strategic, visionary, and results-driven technology leader who can bridge long-term strategy with operational delivery. You should be as comfortable setting direction as you are translating complex technology into clear business outcomes.

Your Profile

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in leading platform engineering teams and deliveries, including integration and data mesh/data lake platforms in global, complex organizations.



  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Technology, or equivalent experience.



  • Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering teams and senior leaders.



  • Strong understanding of integration protocols (REST, Kafka, Streaming), Databricks, data mesh, Power BI and data products.



  • Inspirational leadership style – able to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.



  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, translating technical concepts into business impact.



  • Fluent in English; willing to travel occasionally.
