Ellipse Projects is a European key player in the financing, design and implementation of major high value-added infrastructure projects. The HQ is placed in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris
With a strong multi-sector expertise in health, digital and smart buildings sectors, Ellipse Projects provides turnkey projects in emerging countries.
Ellipse Projects' teams operate mainly in Africa and South-East Asia. On both continents, the company has recognized experience with major public and private players.
Among the achievements in South-East Asia, Ellipse Projects signed in 2022 a contract for the construction and supply of the first national data center in southeast of Jakarta. Another project in Indonesia is a contract of nanosatellites constellation with the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in order to support monitoring of illegal fishing.
For this new Satellite project, Ellipse Projects has created a Joint Venture (called EPGS) with the Danish company Gomspace (manufacturer and supplier of cubsat & small satellite solutions) based in Copenhagen.
We are now looking for a Project Director to manage the Satellite project. The position will be based in Copenhagen – with regular trips to Indonesia.
The Project Director will have a dual reference to Ellipse Projects Operations Director and to the Managing Director of the Joint Venture company EPGS in Denmark. The position is new.
To ensure the management of the project “Nanosatellites Constellation Project to support Monitoring of Fisheries Resources” in Indonesia from its system design, construction, space vehicle selection, launch, test phase to space and ground segment systems acceptance and on all project aspects.
Key areas of responsibility & tasks
- Manage the project in exact accordance with specifications, deadlines, budget, and quality standard.
- Understand, collect, and analyse customer needs and requirements.
- Representing Ellipse Projects in front of the customer.
- Participate in the whole cycle (concept study, pre-project, design, construction, vehicle test phase, launch to space).
- Participate in the definition of technical orientation and best practice.
- Participate in the drafting of specifications for our subcontractors.
- Provide technical support to site teams based in Indonesia during the deployment phase.
- Ensure control of costs, time limits, performance, and product quality.
- Negotiate amendment to contractual documents.
- Recruit and manage collaborators working on the project.
Criteria of Success
- Succesfull executing of the project within the financial budget and on time.
- Create strong relations with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Experience
- Strong Project Management experience from satellite manufacturer or operator – or from telecommunications, avionics or another field that can be used on a satellite.
- Experience with orbit request filing.
- Knowledge of the ecosystem (satellite manufacturers, operators, ground segment HW and SW solutions providers including CPEs).
Skills
- Strong Project Management Skills.
- You can demonstrate autonomy, good interpersonal skills and natural authority.
- You have good management skills and a sense of teamwork.
- Rigorous, organized and responsive to contingency.
- A “Do’er”.
- Structured.
- Excellent communicator – internally and externally.
- Effective stakeholder manager.
- Excellent in English and Danish – both oral and written.
Education
- Relevant Engineering Masters Degree in telecommunications, avionics or another field that can be used on a satellite.
