Our client, adapa flexibles Denmark Slagelse A/S (part of the packaging company adapa Group), is a key and significant player in the global market for flexible packaging, particularly for the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial function covering all activities at the Slagelse site in Denmark. You will be supported by two local accountants who report directly to you. Together with this team, you will aim to identify synergies and drive process efficiencies.
This role is critical in overseeing financial processes at the site and, more specifically, in optimizing the financial performance of manufacturing operations. You will ensure compliance with group policies, local regulations and procedures in financial processes, reporting, and related planning activities.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the site’s Managing Director to optimize the plant’s financial results, support decisions to improve production costs, and provide transparency on produc-tion costs and savings opportunities. Your responsibilities will also include management and analysis of key financial metrics, maintaining standardized costing practices, driving cost optimization, supporting strategic footprint decisions, and overseeing capital expenditure planning and reporting.
In addition, you will collaborate with the group’s finance departments (e.g., Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, etc.) to ensure compliance with legal, administrative, and regulatory requirements in Denmark.
You will report to the Operations Finance Director, based in Austria.
You will collaborate with the plant and Group functions to forecast financial outcomes for the current year and budget for future years. You will also support Group Finance in developing budgets for Sales, Material Costs, Organizational Costs, etc., for the site in Slagelse. Additionally, you will assist the Supply Chain and Operations team in managing footprint adjustment calculations to improve costeffective-
ness across the plants. You will also be responsible for oversight and reporting of capital expenditures, ensuring financial prudence and strategic alignment as well as you support strategic decisions on site footprint and efficiency.
You have a solid understanding of Danish accounting standards, IFRS, manufacturing cost structures, standard costing, and financial analysis. As a leader, you are visible, able to motivate your team, open-minded, proactive, success-driven, and self-reflective. You are adaptable in a changing environment, a strong team player, and have a positive mindset.
You are fluent in English and preferably also in Danish, both written and spoken. You are willing and able to travel to other manufacturing plants and company offices (approximately 15–20 days per year).
This is a position with influence, where you shape own role and the functioning of your team. You’ll have responsibility in an organization undergoing transformation, both locally and across the adapa Group. You’ll work in close cooperation with the Managing Director in a dynamic and challenging setting. You will also be part of the local management team at the site in Slagelse.
You will succeed someone who has held the role for many years. The job is based at adapa flexibles Denmark Slagelse A/S in Slagelse, Denmark. It is expected that you live or plan to settle within reasonable commuting distance. A residence in Zealand or Funen is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Finance Business Partner to the Site Managing Director and local operations.
- Lead and develop the local finance team.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing costs (labor, machine rates, overheads).
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports, financial forecasts and annually budgets.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
- Manage budgeting processes, capex planning, and financial modeling.

Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/ACCA/CPA preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in FP&A/Controlling, ideally in manufacturing.
- International work experience and solid understanding of IFRS and Danish accounting standards.
- Strong communicator and trusted business partner to operations.
- Proactive, analytical, and team-oriented mindset.
