The Position As a Principal Portfolio Scientist, you are involved in enhancing and optimizing the range of human evidence, focused on human genetics, utilized during the early project phase, while standardizing evidence for informed decision-making across targets. Additionally, you promote the integration of new human-centric methodologies to guide target advancement. Your key responsibilities will include: Evaluating, processing, and synthesizing available scientific evidence in order to optimize the efficiency and robustness of decision-making in Novo Nordisk meetings. Supporting the role of the Chief Scientific Advisor in governance boards. Catalyse innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across biology areas. Contributing to a culture of scientific excellence, through both internal and external collaborations. Qualifications You are a scientist and hold a Ph.D. or MD degree with a focus on human biology. You possess several years of experience in human genetic research within an academic, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment. Furthermore, to succeed in this role you have: Deep experience with drug discovery, development, or clinical trial methodology whether from the industry or academia. Strong experience working in a project-oriented, international matrix organization is an advantage. Excellent communication skills evidenced in either high profile external academic or top-level management presentations. Team player with a natural commitment to lead through and/or together with others, taking a flexible and diplomatic attitude. Proficiency in achieving goals in constructive collaboration with multiple global stakeholders. Team-oriented personality with a high degree of flexibility and cross-cultural awareness. About the department You will be joining a small team led by long-term innovator and scientist Lotte Bjerre Knudsen, Chief Scientific Advisor for Research and Early Development. We work to help create and advance future transformational treatments within diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular and kidney disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and rare endocrine and blood disorders. We work with experts across the entire value chain of Novo Nordisk ensuring we maximise the opportunities for human-centric data generation across the early phase of our expanding, and increasingly diverse, pipeline.
