We are looking for a scientist to join our Chemistry and Bioanalysis department. You, as a scientist will be responsible for driving chemistry activities in our internal drug discovery projects and supporting our skilled technicians in the laboratory.
The Chemistry department supports our business by driving our finely tuned peptide drug discovery plate-form, streaMLine, by supporting our high-throughput peptide synthesis capability and providing high quality data for our discovery projects. At Gubra we strive to work smart and consequently seek to automate manual tasks, thereby liberating resources for innovation and scientific challenges. In Chemistry we work closely together with the Computational Biology group by utilizing and expanding our drug discovery platform for high throughput peptide synthesis in plate format and data generation. We excel in automated SPPS, peptide purification and characterization, as well as peptide bioanalysis and metabolite identification by LC-MS/MS. You will join an interdisciplinary team of 7 scientists and 7 laboratory technicians who collaborate across the whole value chain of drug discovery in both internal and contract research drug discovery assignments. The department is part of an area comprising molecular pharmacology and biomarker assays as well as pharmaceutical profiling and formulation.

As our new scientist, your tasks will include:
- Planning, supporting, and coordinating experiments including collaboration with lab technicians.
- Contributing to our internal drug discovery projects by delivering peptides for future testing.
- Communicating key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participation in internal and partnered research projects.
- Taking lead in implementing new enabling chemistries towards automatization.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of peptide synthesizers and other lab equipment.
- Participating in internal innovation processes and idea generation.
Professional qualifications:
- A life science background at PhD level within chemistry and/or peptide chemistry.
- Preferably, extensive hands-on experience with solid phase peptide synthesis and analysis.
- Broad knowledge of peptide therapeutics and optimization of their properties.
- Are used to communicating in English (oral and written).

- Are self-motivated and able to navigate and collaborate well in an energetic organization.
- Keen to take on responsibility within your area of expertise.
- Are proactive and able to initiate, focus and master fast execution.
- Are structured and comfortable working with deadlines.
- Have strong analytical skills and enjoy scientific challenges.
