We are now looking for a Safety Engineer to strengthen our Safety and Compliance Management team, with the position based in either Aarhus or Copenhagen.

What the Role is About

As a Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery and ATEX safety across complex engineering projects in multiple industries. You will act as a trusted safety specialist, supporting projects ranging from new equipment development to upgrades and integration in existing production and operational environments.

You will be part of a multi[xxxxx]ciplinary team where your expertise ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards, tailored to the specific industry and risk level of each project.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Leading safety strategies for machinery and process equipment projects
• Performing ATEX zone classification and ensuring explosion-proof design compliance
• Conducting HAZOPs, risk assessments, and preparing safety documentation (e.g., CE marking, P&IDs)
• Supporting commissioning and validating compliance with standards (e.g., ISO 12100, IEC 60079)
• Contributing to a strong safety culture in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Advising clients and project teams on practical, compliant safety solutions

Your Profile

You thrive in an engineering consultancy environment and bring a proactive mindset to complex safety challenges. You are detail-oriented, structured, and enjoy collaborating across [xxxxx]ciplines.

To succeed in this role, you likely have:

• A technical background such as Engineer, Marine Engineer, or Electrician
• Minimum 2 years of experience with machinery safety and/or ATEX projects
• Solid knowledge of EU directives and harmonised standards (e.g., ISO 12100, IEC 60079)
• Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to share knowledge with peers and clients
• An interest in working across industries such as Life Science, Defense, Manufacturing, or Renewables
