Ballerup

Are you ready to elevate payroll beyond compliance and accuracy – and turn it into a driver for efficiency, professionalism and business-impact? [xxxxx] is a fast-growing software company looking for a strong leader to head our European payroll operations.

As our new Senior Manager for Payroll, you will ensure high-quality payroll services across countries while leading ongoing improvements, automation, and standardization efforts. You are curious about new technologies – including AI – and how they can help us work smarter, faster, and more professionally. You take pride in building robust processes, but you’re just as excited about optimizing and future-proofing them. The position is based in Ballerup.

[xxxxx] is growing rapidly, both organically and through acquisitions, creating a dynamic environment with exciting professional challenges. Payroll is part of our Group Finance function, primarily located in Denmark and India, consisting of approx. 150 dedicated colleagues working closely across countries and teams. The tone is informal, the collaboration strong, and the responsibility shared.

If you are passionate about people, processes, and progress – and want to shape the payroll of tomorrow – this is your opportunity.

The role
As Senior Manager for Payroll, you will lead our Nordic payroll team of 7 employees and drive the continued development of [xxxxx]’s European payroll operations. Your key responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate monthly salary payouts, delivering financial insights to stakeholders, and enabling scalability through streamlined processes and strong governance.

The payroll team handles payroll for approx. 2000 employees and is distributed across the Nordic countries and is an int[xxxxx]rated part of our Finance organization. You will take ownership of fostering a strong team spirit and collaboration across locations, while ensuring that the team’s skills and capabilities are aligned with current and future business needs.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the payroll agenda – working closely with stakeholders such as HR, Group Controlling, and our Nordic outsourcing partner – and use your expertise to promote best practices, automation, and continuous improvement.

At [xxxxx], you will step into a dynamic, fast-paced environment where transformation, leadership, and strat[xxxxx]ic execution go hand in hand.

Your profile
We imagine that you bring a strong mix of structure, business understanding, and a passion for making processes better. To succeed in this role, you may come from a background where you've led and scaled a payroll function, or you may have gained deep expertise through a consulting or advisory role, working with payroll setups across organisations.

What matters most is that you bring solid knowledge of payroll, operational efficiency, and an ability to translate insight into strat[xxxxx]ic impact in a growing and acquisitive company.

We believe the right candidate will bring many of the following qualifications:

  • Solid experience with payroll administration in a global or multi-country setup
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of payroll accounting
  • A structured and professional approach with clear and confident communication skills in English – both written and verbal
  • A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and complex environment
  • A strong desire to continuously improve and develop the European payroll setup in close collaboration with our outsourcing partner
  • A genuine interest in new technology and how AI and automation can be used to optimise workflows, strengthen compliance, and increase overall efficiency – without needing to be an expert yourself.
  • Strong communication skills in both Danish and English, written and verbal.

Even if you don’t meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply if you believe your skills and mindset can help shape the future of payroll at [xxxxx].

What’s in it for you?
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact – both strat[xxxxx]ically and operationally – in a key functional area of a growing international company. You can look forward to:

  • A central role in shaping the strat[xxxxx]ic direction of [xxxxx]’s global payroll function in close collaboration with key stakeholders
  • The opportunity to influence how payroll supports [xxxxx]’s overall strat[xxxxx]y and future direction
  • Responsibility for building a scalable setup that supports our continued growth and acquisitions
  • Working with skilled and dedicated colleagues in a culture focused on continuous development and collaboration
  • Being part of an acquisitive company where int[xxxxx]ration and optimisation are key success factors
  • A dynamic work environment that combines strat[xxxxx]ic development with hands-on execution
  • A competitive compensation package aligned with your skills, experience, and the impact you bring.

Is this your next challenge in payroll?
If you are passionate about payroll and process optimisation and have the experience and skills we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like more information before you apply, please contact Vice President Kenneth Anker Larsen on mobile + [xxxxx]. However, you are still very welcome to submit your CV and application in the meantime. All applications are handled confidentially.

At [xxxxx], we develop software for our customers so they can focus on their profession. Our industry-specific software is built by peers from the industry, and backed by the scale of [xxxxx] for stability, innovation, and security. We are committed to advancing industries by tackling big challenges such as resource use, efficiency, and sustainability.
