Senior AI Engineer – Nuuday
Are you a proven Software or ML Engineer who writes clean, production-ready code and can take an idea from concept to production, first from 0 to 1, then scaling from 1 to 100? Do you thrive in ambiguity and excel at charting a pragmatic path to realize time-to-value sustainably and in the shortest time possible? If so, you might be the perfect fit as the first and key engineering hire in Nuuday’s AI Center of Excellence in Aarhus or Copenhagen.
Your Role
We are building the AI engine for Nuuday. Our immediate priority is to drive direct P&L impact by automating business processes with solutions that are cost-efficient and observable from day one. As our first AI Engineer, you will be a hands-on builder, responsible for designing and implementing high-ROI automations that prove the value of AI and build momentum for our long-term vision.

Your Role
We are building the AI engine for Nuuday. Our immediate priority is to drive direct P&L impact by automating business processes with solutions that are cost-efficient and observable from day one. As our first AI Engineer, you will be a hands-on builder, responsible for designing and implementing high-ROI automations that prove the value of AI and build momentum for our long-term vision.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build High-Impact Automations: You will design, develop, and deploy maintainable automation and AI solutions that connect diverse company systems to reduce manual work, lower operational costs, and enhance customer experience.
- Pragmatic Architecture & Strategy: Partner with business units, advising on performance, cost optimization, and best practices for AI and automation initiatives.
- Establish the Engineering Foundation: Help define our standards for production readiness and pragmatic monitoring. You will promote MLOps and software engineering best practices, by creating reusable frameworks for scalable, reliable AI systems.
- Evolve to ML Solutions: You will develop, validate, and implement Nuuday’s ML models that deliver a superior customer experience – moving from prototype to production-ready services.
- Scale Impact Through Influence and Mentoring: As the first senior engineer, you are the tech lead and a trusted partner for business stakeholders and data scientists.
You will scale your influence via active knowledge sharing and mentoring.
We Imagine That You:
- You have 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, or ML Engineer, with a proven track record in building and deploying production applications
- Possess a strong bias for action and thrive in a fast-paced environment to create immediate impact.
- Are fluent in Python or Go, with strong, practical SQL skills.
- Have hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs for integration, including with third-party vendor platforms.
- Possess solid knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and CI/CD principles.
- Have experience with AI/LLM services and frameworks (e.g., Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex).
- Bring a mature engineering mindset, enjoy structured cross-functional collaboration, and have excellent communication skills.
