About the Project

The OceanNexus project aims to assess the cascading consequences of climate tipping points in the ocean, focusing on the intricate connections between marine ecology and society. As part of the Horizon Europe initiative, this interdisciplinary project seeks to enhance understanding of climate-driven changes and their impacts on ocean integrity, biodiversity, and human communities. The project involves high-resolution Earth System Models, ecosystem modeling, and socio-economic analyses to develop actionable insights for policymakers.

Job Description

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a dedicated Project Administrator to support the OceanNexus project. This is a half-time position of 15–20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work closely with the project coordinator, Professor Peter Ditlevsen, and will be responsible for:

• Internal communication: Communication within the consortium, periodic newsletter, maintaining project webpage, assisting in online seminars, etc.
• External communication: Writing press releases and news stories, communication to stakeholders vi social media, podcasts, national broadcasting etc.
• Administrative Support: Assisting in the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring smooth operations and communication among consortium partners.
• Travel Coordination: Organizing and coordinating travel arrangements for conferences and meetings within the project consortium.
• Reporting: Preparing and submitting reports to the European Commission, ensuring compliance with project guidelines and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous experience in project administration or management is an advantage.
• A background in climate science, marine ecology, or related fields is preferred for the combined postdoc position.

Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 15-20 hours per week.

This is a fixed-term position with a duration of four years.

Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
