Analytics Engineer
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Digital & Business Development team. Our team sits at the intersection of technology, data, and business strategy, and is where innovation happens at Samsøe Samsøe. You will join a diverse team including data engineers, analysts, and project managers working on data strategy, IT for business, omnichannel operations, and business strategy implementation. We are a team that learns together, embraces new challenges, and believes that solving complex problems should be both engaging and enjoyable.
You will be joining at an exciting point in the data team. We are evaluating next-generation data platforms, implementing AI-powered tools, and building the analytics infrastructure that will support the company's growth for years to come.
You will play a crucial role in evaluating and potentially modernising our data infrastructure while supporting day-to-day analytics needs across the organisation. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful technical challenges in the fashion retail industry, balancing hands-on engineering with business impact.

You will play a crucial role in evaluating and potentially modernising our data infrastructure while supporting day-to-day analytics needs across the organisation. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful technical challenges in the fashion retail industry, balancing hands-on engineering with business impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data engineering and modelling (60%)
- Participate in our data platform modernisation initiative, currently evaluating alternatives to our Azure stack through proof-of-concept development.
- Help assess and compare solutions including Microsoft Fabric, MotherDuck, and BigQuery to achieve performance targets.
- Build and maintain ELT pipelines connecting a best-of-breed IT landscape.
- Work on dimensional modeling and medallion architecture patterns.
- Own the transformation layer using SQL.
- Optimise data models serving 100+ Power BI users.
- Help Samsøe Samsøe moving towards Conversational Analytics through semantic layer.
Analytics and stakeholder support (40%)
- Collaborate with business users to understand needs and structure data models answering them.
- Support data governance and documentation initiatives.
- Help upskill team members and business users on SQL and analytics best practices.
- Develop analytics across the value chain supporting use-cases like demand forecasting and buying decisions.
YOUR PROFILE
Required
- 2-3 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with dimensional modelling.
- Experience with ELT/ETL tools and orchestration frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Interest into the retail or fashion value chain.
- Comfortable working with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt, Dagster, or similar modern data tools.
- Former experience with retail or fashion data modelling.
- Power BI or other BI tool expertise.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing.
