The Position As a Senior Category Manager in the Corporate Procurement R&D Sourcing team, you will be leading and supporting sourcing and business development projects within indirect categories for R&D spend categories. The R&D Sourcing team supports global Procurement activities across the full R&D value chain. Your main responsibilities will be to: Work with development and implementation of sourcing/category strategies for R&D and conduct relevant change management activities to ensure that your results are anchored in the organisation. Source, negotiate and optimise cost for pre-clinical studies that are outsourced to suppliers. This includes working closely with the line of business to define business requirements, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers Manage the needs and expectations of your stakeholders to drive satisfaction, while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies Work closely with your colleagues in the R&D Sourcing team and key stakeholders, to identify cost opportunities in our global organisation as well as drive procurement best practice, category management and negotiations Manage the sourcing process and drive large supplier contract negotiations in collaboration with R&D stakeholders at all levels This role gives you the opportunity to be exposed to different organisational areas throughout R&D and beyond, have frequent interactions and presentations to senior management, and work in a high pace environment while being part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team. Qualifications The right candidate is looking for the next step in their career within procurement and is motivated by developing and driving new high potential sourcing projects. We expect you to have following qualifications: Master's Degree in business administration, finance, supply chain management or similar 5+ years of experience working as a category manager and in sourcing Experience in the pre-clinical and clinical outsourcing areas (e.g. pharmaceutical industry, biotech, CRO industry, etc.) is strongly preferred Great stakeholder management skills Proficiency in English both written and spoken On a personal level, you are analytically strong, proactive, self-driven with an international mindset, and can create results by motivating costumers, colleagues, and project teams, while being able to drive change management in a diverse customer landscape using your leadership skills to influence and impact key stakeholders. Furthermore, you are curious and have an interest in understanding the value chain in a large organisation, while having excellent communication and presentation skills and having senior and top management as your key stakeholders. About the department Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. The department consists of more than 140 employees based in Denmark and India, and 400 globally.
