As a Category Manager Direct Procurement, you will be responsible for managing categories within direct materials, supporting the development of procurement strategies and driving category execution through the Global Procurement team. You will report to the Head of Direct Procurement.

Your new team
You'll be part of our Global Procurement team, joining a dedicated procurement organization during an exciting period of transformation. As we refine our procurement strategies and embrace new approaches, your role will be integral to our success. Our collaborative efforts extend beyond Copenhagen to our colleagues in Budapest, ensuring a cohesive and innovative procurement approach across locations. This position is places in Copenhagen, with global reach within the categories of your responsibility.

Your role and responsibilities
This are a rare opportunity to make an impact on the supply of critical materials essential to Xellia’s manufacturing and R&D operations. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of securing and developing strategic supplier relationships that enable us to deliver life-saving treatments. As we continue to strengthen our organization, your expertise will play a key role in ensuring resilient, efficient, and compliant sourcing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owner of Category Strategies and initiatives resulting from these
  • Manage and develop sourcing strategies for direct materials critical to Xellia’s manufacturing and R&D operations
  • Drive supplier selection, contract negotiations, and relationship management to ensure supply reliability and compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D to meet business needs
  • Lead initiatives to optimize costs, improve supplier performance, and support operational efficiency globally
  • Act as key escalation point for supply-related issues and ensure compliance with GxP and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to introduce new suppliers and materials into the value chain

What we’re looking for
We're looking for a proactive and skilled procurement professional with a strong understanding of direct materials in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing setting. You bring solid experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, and cross-functional collaboration. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with diverse stakeholders, and can independently navigate complex challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. You have experience in Category Management (i.e. 7-steps sourcing, Category Strategies, etc.) and can support full Category Management mindset for the organization.

You likely bring:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in procurement within pharma or a similar industry
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, GxP, and regulatory environments
  • Experience in Category Management
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English and confidence working across functions and cultures
