About the role

Are you a student with a passion for finance, data analysis, and driving business performance? Join Maersk’s Business Finance team supporting Fleet Operations and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.

Our team partners with the Fleet Operations arm of the FMT organisation to deliver value through financial transparency, performance management, and actionable insights. We aim to provide clarity on our business outlook, drive cost optimisation, and support strategic decisions through structured analysis and reporting.

As a Student Assistant, you’ll work closely with experienced professionals across Business Finance teams the organization of Fleet Operations, playing a key role in our mission to bring financial insight and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis and deep-dives to support business decision-making
  
  
• Extract analytical insights through benchmarking against third-party ship managers
  
  
• Assist in preparing monthly performance review materials for senior leadership
  
  
• Help develop new reporting solutions to improve data visibility across fleet groups
  
  
• Identify areas for improvement to enhance financial transparency and cost management
  
  
• Collaborate with the BI team to support the development of automated business intelligence tools
  
  
• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes
  
  
• Deliver ad hoc financial analyses to support management and strategic initiatives
  
  

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a curious and detail-oriented student who is:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  
  
• Proficient in Excel and experienced or interested in tools like Power BI or other data visualization platforms
  
  
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in performance optimization
  
  
• A team player with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
  
  
• Structured, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
