As a Category Business Analyst Scandinavia, you will be the analytical backbone of our Optical Retail head office, supporting stores across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Your insights will directly shape assortment decisions, pricing strategies, and promotional effectiveness—ensuring our customers always find the right products at the right time.
We are looking for a Category Business Analyst to join our Scandinavian Retail Merchandising team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving category performance through in-depth analysis of sales, margins, and inventory across product categories, identifying opportunities to maximize profitability and enhance customer satisfaction. You will work closely with Category Managers to support strategic decisions on assortment strategies, pricing models, and promotional activities, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
You will play a key role in enabling data-driven retailing by developing dashboards, reports, and KPIs that transform complex data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers at both headquarters and store level. The position also involves close collaboration with stakeholders in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway to harmonize category strategies while respecting local market dynamics.
Additionally, you will contribute to process optimization by supporting the transformation of systems and planning tools, streamlining workflows, and improving forecasting accuracy. Finally, you will present your findings in a compelling way that connects numbers to business impact, influencing senior stakeholders and driving change.

Your Role and Impact
- Category Analysis: Monitor category performance, track trends, and provide recommendations to improve sales mix and margin.
- Financial Planning: Support budgeting and forecasting processes with robust data models and scenario planning.
- Assortment & Pricing Insights: Evaluate product introductions, lifecycle management, and pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Promotional Effectiveness: Assess campaign performance and provide insights to optimize future marketing and promotional investments.
- Market Intelligence: Benchmark against competitors and identify emerging trends in the Scandinavian optical retail landscape.
About You
You are analytical, commercially minded, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. You enjoy working with numbers but also understand the story behind them. You are proactive, structured, and able to balance detail with big-picture thinking.
Main Qualifications
- Relevant academic background (Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or similar).
- Experience in retail analytics, category management, or merchandising—ideally within FMCG, fashion, or optical retail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect data to commercial outcomes.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organization and collaborating across countries and functions.
