On behalf of our client, a global market leader within industrial water, process and service-based solutions, we are recruiting an Area Sales Manager for Denmark to lead and grow an established B2B business.
This is a first-level field sales leadership role, combining hands-on commercial execution with people leadership and full accountability for results. The role has a strong mandate to drive growth, strengthen customer relationships and professionalise the sales organisation.

Key responsibilities
Commercial & Business Leadership
- Full responsibility for sales performance in Denmark, including revenue growth, margin development and customer retention
- Ownership of area P&L, including forecasting, profitability management and disciplined execution
- Drive growth through expansion of existing key accounts and acquisition of new customers, particularly within regulated and industrial segments
- Translate customer insights and technical value propositions into commercial growth opportunities
- Act as senior commercial contact for key strategic customers
Sales Execution
- Lead pipeline management, forecasting accuracy and sales prioritisation
- Shift the organisation from a service-oriented approach to a strong account management and growth mindset
- Ensure structured follow-up, performance management and service execution excellence
People Leadership
- Direct leadership responsibility for an experienced, geographically distributed small sales and technical team
- Coach, develop and deploy the team to create sustainable performance
- Create results through others, with clear expectations, accountability and follow-up
- Lead change management in a mature organisation, strengthening future capability and commercial mindset
Safety, Compliance & Governance
- Act as a visible role model for safety, ethics and compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal standards, processes and governance requirements
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
Success in the role (12–18 months)
- Clear improvement in commercial momentum and profitable growth
- Stronger sales discipline, forecasting accuracy and P&L ownership
- Measurable shift from service execution to proactive account development
- High customer satisfaction combined with increased share of wallet
- A performance-driven, future-ready sales organisation with high engagement
Candidate profile
- Proven experience in commercial sales leadership within B2B / industrial environments
- Demonstrated success as a first-level people manager, leading experienced professionals
- Strong commercial mindset with solid understanding of P&L, forecasting and performance management
- Ability to operate confidently in technical environments and translate technical value into business impact
- Background from industrial services, chemicals, water treatment, process industries, pharma, food or similar is an advantage
- Strong change leader, comfortable driving transformation in established teams
- Digital and data-driven approach to sales leadership
- Fluent in Danish and English
Education
- A degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or a comparable technical discipline is an advantage
However, strong commercial leadership experience combined with the ability to lead effectively in a technical environment is equally valued.
