About this opportunity:
Themis is Maersk’s new Visibility Platform which sits in the core of our 2030 Integrator Vision. This is chance to work in a new greenfield project where you get to shape the future of Maersk by building the World’s best visibility data platform which will underpin our customers’ supply chains and, eventually, deliver recommendations and actions to inform how cargo is transport around the globe.
We integrate data from various data integrators as well as asset operators (carriers, ports etc.) and transform and integrate the data streams into seamless, end-to-end visibility and milestone tracking and insights. This data informs customer decisions and enables us to give automated recommendations on how to optimise the supply chain and avoid delays and more.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work in a co-located team (in Copenhagen) of highly skilled engineers, delivering code according to agile and lean principles.
- Collaborate with the business and product teams in defining and prioritising the feature backlog.
- Implement and deliver high quality platform and product features in a microservice based, cloud native architecture.
- Participate in deploying infrastructure and code as well as maintaining our CI/CD pipeline.
- Assist in production issue resolution and root cause analysis.
- Work with latest technologies in a, practically, legacy-free platform while continuously evaluating what are the best technologies available to solve for the needs.
- Explore how we can increase automation by analysing the processes in the operational teams.
- Form strong and trusted relationship with the Product Owner; ensuring that the Product Owner is fully aware of the technical capabilities and shortcomings of the product allowing for sensible technical investment and debt repayment decisions.
- Participate in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies related to software development.

- Relevant experience as a backend software engineer working on SaaS platforms and products.
- Proficient in problem solving using Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Knowledgeable in cloud-based products and solutions (Preferably Azure)
- Proficient in system integration using modern technologies e.g., JAVA, Spring Boot, REST API, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (using GitHub Actions), Kafka, SQL or any NoSql databases and other Service based systems.
- Experience in delivering CI/CD related solutions with a high degree of automation.
- Highly skilled in writing clean, reusable and efficient code that is easy to read.
- Highly skilled in writing unit & integration tests across all components; an advocate for automated testing
- Deep knowledge and understanding of technology; a person who stays relevant with the latest technology advancements and trends.
- Strong belief and demonstrated ability to iterate and evolve architecture.
- A solid understanding of cloud native architectures
- Experience with building and managing microservices through its life cycle (versioning, backward compatibility)
